SHIP size scales?

Right - this isn't referring to micro-space verses minifig scale - more the stud size of SHIP's per class - and at which point to vessels stop being one class and start being another? (IE - a SHIP going from frigate scale to destroyer, and then to cruiser or battle cruiser)

Also - who has the largest SHIP on the forum? And what is it's class? (As I'm trying to figure something out for another LDD project)

Well, there's a problem here because we don't have a universal scale. But as for searching for the lagest ship, I think it is Natalya's Venus class Destroyer

theres no universal scale, i say 200-240 is a battleship/dreadnaught.

biggest is either:-
venus-class
fire in battle glory
mornigstar lament
hodgepodge

we have so far created a vast array of escorts. (frigates destroyers MAYBEY a light cruiser. probably not though.) natalya's venus class destroyer is not the largest ship. i'm pretty shure it was a gray ship that is currently in the lead.

natalya's ship is definitely a destroyer. some people have ships they call "carriers" but there more akin to the escort carriers of the us navy during ww2. not massive fleet carriers. mostly that's all weve created. support and escort size ships.

ship class is really an eyeball type thing. it's both size AND weaponry. for example if Natalya's venus class didn't have the sponsons i might label it an escort destroyer instead of a full blown destroyer.

I'm of the opinion that since anything that is over 100 studs long is a SHIP, you can call it whatever the heck you want. It's your SHIP, after all.

Then again, if you make it over 200 studs, let's call it a FRIGGINHUGESHIP. :D

i don't know, stranas capital ship (whos name escapes me) could give the venus a run for its money.

Strana could link all his ships together using chains and claim to have the largest.

currently the Hodgepodge stands at 48 inches long and over 24 inches high (not counting antenna, its composed of 6 vertical levels and 10 compartments, its primary hangar bay can handle gunboat sized vessels, as can the forward assault bay. it has 1 class XI beam cannon mounted on a turret, one quad class VII turret and multiple smaller turrets class III and lower. it can hold all the stranian troops vehicles and fighters except for the mechas and wobblies, the wobblies currently arnt able to airlift though the mechas fit into the cargo hold of the Redfell.

the hodge podge was built combining the previous hodgepodge version and one of the lander ships.
