i have an assault rifle that has 1d6+4 damage but im trying to decide if

it should just be 8...i tested it and they both roll very close to one another

but is that to strong? i mean the first way the lowest i could roll is 5 and the

second way the low is 8 and i don't want it to be op but i thought the second

way would just be faster

tell me what you think...

8 damage?! You do realize that a minifig's simplified armour is 4 right? Even if you have 1D6+4, that only leaves 2 results that fail to hurt it on a crit success. I wouldn't say average it out, I'd say bring it lower.

All right. When using dice of any kind, any modifier that goes above exactly half of the number of sides on the die should be changed to another die of the same type. For your gun, instead of 1d6+4, it should be 2d6 even. Cheaper that way, and it's also easier to keep track of.

Weapons can't have a set number to hit at- then they will automaticly kill. That's no good. Decrease the weapon bonus to +1 and have it as 1d6+1, or use 1d10 if you really want a overpowered gun. Random results with weapons is an important part of Brikwars.

DAMN! I missed out on the insulting a halofag!

I would remove the head shot rule, its just a Crit success by a diffrent name.

I would us 1D6+2, rolling a 2 gives you a kill on a minifigure then.

ya i would use 2d6 but i find lots of my weapons use 2d6

besides i wanted a weapon that was at least going to get a high number

while with 2d6 i can get 2-12 with 1d6+4 i can get 5-10

That is why it's a good idea.
And a diffinate kill is bad for a general weapon since it puts no randomnes in your attacks.
For heavy weapons then this is fine but not for general multi-use every turn fire ones.

Ok

First; how consitant is the damage given by the weapon; dose it change wildly depending on various things that the damage roll acounts for.
second; how much damage dose it's LOWEST damage do.

the first gives you the dice sizes.
the second gives you the number of dice and how much to add.
