If I'm going to make rules for Mechwarrior Brikwars, I need some help with these. How do you guys work with hit points? More importantly, how do you find or create a total amount of hit points for a character?

Just like it says in the 2010 rulebook, with its size.
I think that the 2010 rules are the best vehicle rules I have seen so far, I like them a lot.
EDIT: Oh you where talking about those micro models. Never mind then
.

Yeah I need ideas for the micro stuff, if anyone has them. BTW I don't have the 2010 rules, sorry.

Do it by studs. I've been telling people this for microscale forever, because it's just way easier.

Just take a plate and measure everything with studs. Every instance of "inches" in the rulebook, change to studs. If you want bigger battlefields, keep movement and range to inches, but measure size by amounts of studs.

A stud's just a fourth of an inch anyway.

That's a very simple, extremely effective idea. Thanks.

I really like these ideas. As for damage, should each weapons, I have two ideas that need your opinions:

1. Each weapon has a set amount of damage points that remove the same amount of structure points when an attack hits

2. Structure Point damage is equal to however many points the attack roll exceeds the damage roll. For example, on player rolls an 8, the target rolls a 5 on defense, 3 structure points of damage.

Which do you guys prefer?

Just do it like regular Brikwars.
