Well I didn't exactly plan to get laid off with an enourmous severance package. But now that the opportunity's here I'm not going to pass it up.

Stubby's enormous package severance, sounds painful.

I don't know. If this package is as enormous as you are implying, and you have as much free time as you imply, then you should just pretend that this was your master plan all along to get Brikwars in print, and a big slice of that kickstarter money tabletop players love to throw around like it is going out of style.

Yeah I was going to suggest KickStarter too.
You may not need it, but its free advertising.

It would also be great to gauge interest, and to see if that interest corresponds to the number of copies at which this becomes economically viable.

Anyway, let the rampant speculation begin.

It's weeks of labor putting together a proper campaign. There's nothing free about a kickstarter campaign if you're planning to do anything other than a completely half-assed job of it.

So in conclusion: Woo, free advertising!

This is where you convince forum members to put together the campaign for you. You've got an untapped source of NEETs and child labour here, might as well capitalise on it.

Oh. Nevermind.

I was going to wait til you made a thread for it, but...

Yes its a total pain in the ass if you do it the usual way, with perks.
Collecting and mailing perks is a waste of time, so don't do it.
Let people buy in at different levels that don't cause you pain, multiple books.
Or tossing in a hand sketch that takes 5 min. at high levels $100 +

Computer Games have different support goals that unlock the creation of new game features, don't do it.

There is only one feature and one perk, its the one book you get.
AND YOU"LL LIKE IT ! Soup Piltogg style or no book for you!

Just presenting it is good enough, I don't know what "proper campaign" means.

Some people do a post mortem and wish they had promised less, learn from their mistakes.

Woo! :D
