Anyway, I am surprised no one has thought of how to bring this into the BrikVerse. Or at least, have not discussed any ideas here yet...

I mean, a meteorite strike could be just the thing to kick off a new Reconstruktion, bring in a new faction by chance, start the end of the world on some faction's planet, and so on...

Colette has brought up using 'Meteor Blitzkriegs' often enough, it's just that we don't usually use weapons of mass destruction because it takes away the possibility of a hand-to-hand, minifig to minifig Brikwar

The best weapons of mass destruction are probably biological ones like the Peach Virus -> massive damage, lots of fights (see ZZD).

Oh I expect the minifigs to be totally helpless against the meteorites. That's a given.

What I am interested in is what sort of chaos afterwards would such an event cause in the brikverse...

I could always used more grey briks. I have loads of the buggers on order.

But I was thinking more of possible plot hooks to use.

Off the top of my head: I recently got the female alien and space robot figures from series 8.

They somehow got knocked out of space by the meteorite storm and "landed" on Pekab. Now they want to return home, and fortunately, managed to get in touch with the SteamPunk Twins. This is a match made in the BrikVerse Heaven, as the SteamPunk Twins want to get into space and the Alien and her bodyguard have the technical knowledge of how to do it.

Seriously though, a rogue meteorite causing havoc on your planet is just the excuse one needs to bump of a few people (or groups of people) off, or to introduce a new faction. Consider it a McGuffin that the universe has just provided to be used...

Well, I mean, if its about cleaning up the remnants from players who don't visit anymore, I say call it a thing and be done with it. The BrikVerse is shattered, so if they come back and discover that they've been wiped out like the dinosaurs, they won't need to get mad. They can always just bring the faction back through some time hole or something.

Especially if they're the Time Travelling Super Jews.

No factions are getting extinct unless their creators say so though. That you don't see them now, doesn't mean that they potentially couldn't come back and do a couple of battles that 'took place in the past' to fill up the gap. Or just say 'this is what happened, deal with it'. If everything had to make perfect sense, we couldn't do anything.

The whole thing with Bragina, for example, takes place before the Commandos battles.

Then there's factions like the VoL: Tuefish hasn't posted for awhile, but it's safe to assume the VoL are just roaming about, pillaging and still a threat. The idea is that we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg in what's displayed in forum battles and such.

It's worth noting, though, that stories don't have to take place "in the past." The Rekonstruktion concept takes care of that beautifully (which is why its one of my favorite things about the BW setting). The past can just as easily be the future, the future past, the present past, the present future, the future present, yadayadayada. With time broken, it literally doesn't matter. And that opens the creative floodgates for everyone.
