So why is Shinji such a pussy? He's in the military, right? Surely they make him do PT and drills and stuff, how can he possibly get away with being such a whiny teenager and not be booted out of the Eva program? They've got at least like 15 other potential candidates...

I dunno why I brought this up now. I haven't even seen the show for like, 1.5 years.

So why didn't they switch him for someone more suitable to being a military pilot? That's what I've been wondering. They did have people to choose from, in fact they even DID replace him with Toji at one point.

Yeah I think because Eva 01 was Yui that it let Shinji synch better.

Didn't they basically imply at the End of Evangelion movie that Unit 1 is Shinji's mom and Unit 2 is Asuka's? It's all about sync ratios. Shinji got much higher numbers on Unit 1 than any other pilot (even Rei who is a clone of Yui).

Is anyone else so excited for the third movie. It's gonna be fansubbed any month now!

Not really, don't like the whole idea of rebuild. It's basically printing money for Anno and Gainax. Not keen on the EVA redesigns either.

I'm really enjoying the new scenes and I have a feeling that the whole story isn't a re-telling but that the events of Eva have been repeating forever. Once Shinji comes out of the LCL he'll inevitably re-create the universe and try again. Kwaoru says that basically and if you pay close attention to his mp3 player it offers hints.

I'm a huge Eva nerd so I'm down with it no matter what comes out. I just think the 3rd and 4th movies are going to change the story completely and change how we previously viewed the entire series.
