Yes and no. The machine in HGTTG shows you a map of the universe, then puts a dot you can't see that represents you on the map and makes you aware of just how small it is.

And it's powered by angel food cake.

This is just really cool.

this shows you and the universe at diffrent times so it should'ent have the same effect as the dooms day machine (that or we all have Egos larger than beeblebrox's).

I think it would be neat to be the size of an ant or a flea for a bit so you could see all the smaller particles that they can see.

You know, i'm not sure about that. Beeblebrox had a pretty friggen huge ego in the first place...
