Power, and the lack of such

Postby Ross_Varn » Wed Feb 10, 2010 12:03 pm

Crap.

Power just went down in my zipcode, I may be offline for a while. Thank the lack-of-a-god for libraries with wireless internet ten minutes away.

Every time I think that post-apoc situations might be cool, I immediately think of the lack of power and internet and revise my opinion. If I can't read my email while fighting zombies, I quit!

Damn straight.

And anywho, you're getting hit by the blizzard too?

I wonder if we're close... ::scratches chin thoughtfully:: Haven't had the opportunity to play Brikwars with someone other than kidko in a long time.

That would be awesome. Unfortunately, I'm sworn to secrecy of my location on the internet. Maybe when I finally start a club...

The blizzard already busted this area. I think we are just dealing with the after effects now, we got less than a foot of snow.

We're still in the midst of the brunt of it.

Heh. And I thought the winter was bad here...

Well, time to return to the old homestead and see if I'm back on the grid or not. I'm REALLY glad I didn't live 100 years ago.

Hrm. Looks like the power company figured it out. Cool.

This was much better than a few years ago when the power was out for two weeks. In the summer. In 110+ degree weather. God that sucked.

I actually enjoy when the power goes out, as long as it isn't out for long.

We had a night-long power outage last weekend, and my Mom and I sat down at around midnight, an she read a steampunk book (Leviathan) out loud while I played guitar quietly to fit the mood.

T'was incredibly fun for something so mellow.

I find it hilarious that you guys think you're having a blizzard down there.

This is my hometown from late October until early March. On the average snowfall years.

(the large white area is ice btw)

yeah, I would still call it a blizzard.
Act first, then think, then try to find a way to cover up the horrible mess you made.

Thing is, Benny, I haven't got a blizzard, I've got a thrice cursed storm system that keeps throwing two inches on the ground... as soon as the last batch melts.

It's rather annoying.
