It kind of makes me wish that the previous years' Uruk Hai sets were modular too...though with enough wall sections I guess one could build an MOC fort anyway...Bragallot wrote:Got the Mirkwood Elf Army set twice, because the geniuses at Lego made it so that you need four of them to build the whole fort. No, that wasn't sarcasm, it's actually smart. At 35 euros I think this is one of the few (only?) Lotr / Hobbit sets (that I've found) that aren't too expensive.

Re: The official LOOT topic
As far as I know only 'attack of the wargs' has wargs beside this set and it's about twice as expensive and no longer available. Remembering the fantasy line trolls, I don't even wanna know what single wargs cost on Bricklink... probably a lot.IVhorseman wrote:I whole-heartedly agree. I wanna get a couple more of this set. Is there a better one for getting Worgs though?
Zahru I'm not saying it's super cheap but 35 euros, for a licensed set? The gatehouse from the medieval line was 30, I think, so I don't think it's exaggerated. Unless you mean buying the set 4 times isn't affordable, then yeah, I agree, although I still like this more than if they'd have had like one huge 100-140 euro elf fortress set. Maybe I just got lucky though 'cos the other shop was asking 45 euros, I don't know how they're even able to compete with the shop I ordered from.
The set is nice btw, the elf king is kinda silly with his over the top hair which you can hardly put over his cape without damaging the cape (unless you want to make warcraft elves I guess) and I was never a big fan of the elf faces (elf king's face would make a nice peach virus zombie though) but the shields, torsos, wargs, abundance of weapons and varied parts make it a very good set. Pretty much all of it was immediately cannibalized for the woad elf army.

Haha, I actually started using peaches as space-elves thanks to that set. I gave the elf king a gold staff with a ruby, and made him a bling elementalist.

Looking around, it seems the Mirkwood Fort could be completed with either three or four:

Damn dude that sucks! They put up another bin at my local store just for travesty bricks. If you really need some let me know and I'm sure we can work something out. I'm not looking to make money here just want to get the holiest of holy bricks in a fellow Lego maniac's hands.aoffan23 wrote:I have yet to find any travesty bricks in the PaB wall near me, and it saddens me. I've found some other great parts, but I can die happy when I get a cup full of travesty bricks.

Yeah, there were many "scenery packs" with trees and flowers and occasionally fences. A lost art!Zupponn wrote: This was a set? Seriously?
