You know, that game we played together was the first time I'd considered the thought that a mech pilot could have the pilot and gunner abilities, and now I whole-heartily feel like they totally should.

Yeah, it's pretty scary that you can shoot out a pilot of a mech and take it over. Hmm..... I have 2 targeting computers on the mechs to help with the rocket launcher. Hmm.... would that negate the need for a pilot fig and any regular figs can use it willy nilly? I'm trying to remember the rules for the targeting comp, but I can't seem to find them.

I actually do this with all of my pilots.IVhorseman wrote:You know, that game we played together was the first time I'd considered the thought that a mech pilot could have the pilot and gunner abilities, and now I whole-heartily feel like they totally should.

Re: 45th Union
Targeting computers function as if you had another minifig built into the machine, who happened to be a gunner and represented by comuter-looking bits on the model somewhere. They can fire independently, or give a pilot +1 skill towards an action on any given turn. You could get rid of a pilot by giving it a piloting computer i guess, which would be able to grant the piloting skill to any fig or something along those lines. I couldn't really imagine it being able to do a whole piloting action on it's own turn. Alternatively, you could just have each computer represented by a supernatural die and then read up on all of those rules.
@ben All of them? Seriously? I would usually reserve an ability like that to someone in an extremely specialized piloting job, like as a mech pilot or a super-starfighter or something. Units with lots of abilities should be reserved for the extra-cool things, to make the slightly-less cool things pale in comparison. If everyone's got that ability, doesn't it kinda cheapen it?

Oh, I didn't realize the thing with the targeting computers. I suppose that might help.IVhorseman wrote:@ben All of them? Seriously? I'd love to slaughter this army. Or die trying.
