Cool pieces, but I was never a fan. This frees up a Sci-Fi slot and a Fantasy slot on the store shelves, so I hope we get something cool, but less genre breaking to replace it.

I'd like be another space police at least and a revisit to that fantasy castle they did, but with elves included (they obviously have the molds)

I would rather get near-future space exploration again a la Life on Mars.  I think that would avoid the toes of Star Wars a little better than SPIV.

High fantasy castle would be nice... but I would give all my money to a silk road line with non-European medieval sets.

Star Wars is a pain for anyone who doesn't really care for those sets anymore. Any pseudo-militaristic sci-fi gets slapped down by the sheer selling power of the Star Wars label. I'd love something similar to Mars Mission. I am pretty sure someone at lego was channeling some Halo/Gears/Red Faction/Killzone vibes when making that stuff.

Proper high fantasy stuff however would be amazing. Surely there is a market with the popularity of Hobbit, and resurgence of D&D. I want elves, goblins, orcs and dwarves. And lots of them. And tons of magic stuff. Elemental airships, wild fantasy beasts and terrifying monsters. Strange and exotic looking castles and villages. Make my fantasy worlds come alive.

If anything, Lego should do more mash-up themes, instead of the homogeneous stuff that gets pulled after half a year. I'm all for space caveman or medieval secret agents (KK2 meets Alpha Team).

Yes! This! Lego Mongol hordes! Cathayan traders, Italian merchants, call it "Lego Polo's incredible journey along the Silk Road!"

Bring back some of the adventures stuff (elephants and turbans), funky swords, interesting characters, you could have a LOT of fun with this one! Sets could be different points of interest, encampments, villages from different cultures, or an ambush from rival nomad tribes! Merchants from every culture would allow different outfits, equipment, goods, and stuff. Could make a couple of different merchant wagons, or maybe smaller ships - the Silk Road started in the Mediterranean. Wouldn't be too hard to add fantasy elements! Rakshasa from India, various Russian and Slavic monsters (go with undead and use Rusalka and...oh, what was that one guy... big head-honcho undead duke...), different wild animals (tigers, bears, badgers), lots of stuff from myth and legend to draw on, not to mention lots of generic cultural tribes of the area!

Shame it had to go away. I've never been a fan of NK but I liked the fact that, judging by concept art, they'd wanted to make lego Warhammer 40k (no kidding, there were even chainswords). Personally, I'd love to see something equally unusual, like lego Shadowrun.

No kidding indeed, I just looked up some concept art and between the chainswords and "CybOrcs" it looks like they really did. Hey Stubby, any insights?

Edit: There was even a Necron-like figure with a glowing green weapon.

My special insight is that the way Nexo Knights ended up, turned out to be almost exactly what the Knights Kingdom II concept art looked like. So maybe the next castle line will have an even crazier concept but end up looking like the stuff in the Nexo concept art.

Right, him! Thanks! :) Been a while since I've read up on Slavic Mythology and Legends.
