(Yes I'm still alive)
I'm trying to redesign my 'Woad Elves' (basically wood elves but with a bit of human blood in them to make them more savage).
Yeah... not happy with how they turned out at all.
I'm swapping parts around and I'm happy with how the figs look, but the weapons just don't do it for me. The elf longbows look nice but the katanas look out of place and the spears too simplistic.
Are there other (LEGO, not third party, those are nice but too expensive for me) weapons you think look good on an elf themed army?

personally i like elves with katanas
Re: Weapons for elves
Brick-built spears/polearms like in this picture? But more gold/brown/green to fit the elf theme.
Or go with a trans-<choose colour> theme and build weapons with that trans piece, but they could all be different but still fit on an army scale.

Have you tried Ninjago katanas?
Also, if you want to make them look savage as hell, there are troll curved swords from Castle 2006.

Ditch almost everything gold, it doesn't fit their savage nature.
More savage ideas:
Troll swords.
Prince of Persia claws.
Pikes.
Dual knives.
Put axeheads on the spears.

Re: Weapons for elves
I've updated them, quite happy with the results (except for not having enough proper elf heads for like 5 of them). What I've found it you can actually give them silver and gold weapons since there's some silver and gold on some of the torsos I was using, before it was just too much brown which made the entire figure look a bit bland and one dimensional.
They don't need to look super savage to me, just a little bit more 'wild' than your typical pansy shiny high elves.
If I can find the time (and my camera and a reliable way of hosting new pictures, lol) I'll show you the results.
