If those had been around when I first tried to build one of these in 2004 I would probably have succeeded. But they weren't; there was only a defunct website with some detail of the joints and stuff.


You need a lot of those big gears though. Take a look at the hips:

6) Let the Assyrians find out there's a high-value target on the most well-guarded of your planets.
7) Wait for AC to show up
As an epic battle rages (actually, as the thing is massacring your troops in job lots), begin accelerating asteroids toward the planet. LOTS and LOTS of very BIG asteroids.
9) Annihilate planet, along with whatever target was bait, and the 50 or so left of your original 50,000 troops there.
10) Hope the Assyrians don't have another one.

Or just use hundreds of cheap anti-tank units with rocket launchers and aim for the legs, and then continue to systematically dismantle it in that manner.

No, even easier, get hundreds of tiny drones that the AC will have trouble even looking at, and zerg rush the thing. If you're smart you should be able to destroy it within turns.
