I was gonna yell at you for turning a STAP into a larger, less mobile target with only marginally increased offensive power until I saw it detach as it's own scouting vehicle... nice work!

Yeah, I figured if I was going to use a manned turret, then the droid on it would be pretty exposed.
So I like, "Well I'll make him a scout... and give him his own detachable STAP!"

Anyways, while I don't think it counts for this thread, I have been working on that "Conifer class" Briktoid Automata ship I've been talking about.
But I don't know...

Amazing name. Could a droid be packed inside? Then you could have a drop-pod assault.
EDIT: so you put Briktoid in the Third Alliance?

Actually, the Conifer class is a Microspace Super Heavy Dreadnought...

Yeah, really they're only there as Mercenaries being paid in Vidagames and because my other two army concepts are on the other two sides of the Immortal War already.

I was referring to the TURDs. Also, welcome to the TA.

Oh, yeah the TU:RDs are also Microspace Ships.
They exist because warships like the Conifer class are little more then weapons, armor, shielding, sensors, engines, and the computer brains that run them.
Briktoid Automata doesn't waste space with superfluous things like "Crew Quarters" or "Life Support" and they need something to move their ground troops from planet to planet with.
I could maybe build a Drop-pod using the same techniques, but for right now I just wanted a freighter.

Good point, all those large lasers will never do you any good if I can just deploy a dozen of my cruisers and swarm your expensive dreadnought to death with cheap, agile, fighters.

Admittedly, I left studs open in the event I ever actually built this thing and needed spots to attach stands.

Also, my new V-wing inspired me to built a similar starfighter:

Like you said, the Conifer class is a very expensive Dreadnought, an asset that should not be risked lightly.
Thus by the time one shows up, you've probably already been screwed over.

Nice fighter design, the folded sections work nicely with the rest of the frame.
