Stores near me with Lego:
Target
Wal-Mart
K-Mart
All three of these in multiples.

My local mall just picked up a LEGO store, but it's the TERRIBLE one: Fashion Valley.
Honestly, the only other remotely interesting places there are the generic mall-brand bookstore and the friggin "container store" across the street! And of course it's nestled deep in the walls of clothes stores with boneriffic names.

Only place to get Lego within walking distance of me is Toys-R-Us and the shame+stupid prices make me just use Bricklink instead.

Believe me, I'd prefer a store. Don't get me wrong Bricklink is great for getting bulk items but it has its downsides too and is *not* a good place to get sets (which I mostly see as a good way to accumulate parts) 'cos they're almost always more expensive, definitely because of the shipping / other costs that really add up over time. 1 seller is taking ages to even pack an order I placed, the other had some kind of hidden charge for 'packaging' I've never had to pay before. Next time I order anything, I'll ctrl + f charges and fees at the store policies before ordering anything because I do read the store policy but this kind of stuff is usually well-hidden. It's not like I'm asking them to put every lot in a separate plastic bag. This might be a good piece of advice to you guys as well

I haven't been hit by hidden fees yet, but that's a great tip. Thanks Brag.

I've stopped shopping at TRU due to some of their more annoying habits. the reward zone coupons have been all but useless to me. everytime i get one that can be used on lego, there is always some reason that it wont work and they wont do anything about other than shrug their shoulders and say "oh well". that and the sets are about 10-15% more than they should be. Wal-mart is the cheapest place to find sets, follewed by lego shop at home. at least with the shop at home i get VIP points that turn into cash at the lego store or with shop at home.

I live in NYC, so no Wall-Mart for me.

I always imagined New York to have everything that was ever known to man inside of it.

New York City DOES have everything, but people think a few blocks is too far away when you live in the city.

Except a Wal-Mart, unless you're willing to take an hour to drive to the hellhole of non-MTA connected Long Island.
There's a Lego Store but its about an hour by train, maybe 25 minutes by car to get there from the borough I live in.
Wal-Marts never caught on here, likely due to the abundance of grocery stores and whatnot coupled with the high price of real estate.

Everything is at least a half hour away from me. S'what I'm talking about. An hour drive is short for around here. The closest "city" is a half hour away, and it barely qualifies.

But yea, there aren't WalMarts in NYC, but plenty of other options.

for my problems, I had a huge homework assignment due today and I did it all last night in a rush. Today, the teacher for whatever reason gave us another day, so it was a huge waste of a night. At least she said no more homework in her class until after spring break if we did the whole packet. Oh, and I'm really impatient and I hate mail ordering, and since all stores around me overprice everything I bought community season 1 on Amazon. At least I saved $25

Now, whenever someone uses any of these three emoticons, they'll think of me, which makes me the most influential person on brikwars.
