After burying out ancient minis from here and there and painting them I trained my macro photoshooting, putting the Saurus Warrior my younger self slapped paint unto several years ago (on the left), paired with the one I painted this weekend (on the right).

Don't know if it's nostalgia or something, but I'm having a blast painting these guys again. Or painting in general actually! Plus, the newer Age of Sigmar miniatures look amazing, even if just to build and kit them out. Might get some of those along with more tiny mechs.
It could still do with some highlights

These looks pretty good try adding a wash on the back to emphasize how much the scales pop out

I used one, but perhaps it could have been better distributed.

Sometimes I use ridiculous amounts of Agrax earth shade for a really cartoony effect

Happened to me once. I used a wash in a Citadel bottle and knocked it over. Those fucking things were like 3 bucks a piece then. Never again.

Now, I mix my own washes using watered down acrylic paint in a cupped palette.

You can also use a paper cup (wax coated) if you don't have a curvy palette.
Use scissors and cut it down to only 1 inch high.

I should pay more attention to things, overall.

Painted my first bunch of Battletech mechs. These three are in the regimental parade color scheme of the Federated Suns' Davion Guards. One more to go for a complete lance. Screwed up here and there, I think I might have to get a smaller brush and take it easy on the wash OR get better at highlighting and dry brushing. Still, pretty satisfied. Can't wait to get these on the field!

I'm thinking on working with some camos and merc unit schemes. Will share.
