The first part of a story I just started working on. You all have to try and guess the genre/concept before I completely give it away soon.
Here goes:
As you awaken, you encounter a stifling, cold silence, just as you have for every day of your life. Every muscle in your body aches, even more so than usual. All of the clocks in this place are long gone, but you know the time. Six o’clock sharp. Same time as always. Groaning, you stand up from the mat that serves as a rudimentary bed. Your vision sweeps the room, taking in the sight of all the things you’ve become accustomed to. A desk with maps spread across it, a tall lamp with only a third of the light bulbs intended, and a makeshift rack containing your various pieces of weaponry and equipment greet you with all the kindness a pile of thinly held together scraps can muster.
As you climb into your leather armor, you think of your current situation. As always, running low on food supplies, and already on strict rations. No contact with the outside for more than a month now. Bored out of your mind. Thirsty as ever.
You finish putting on your armor, and you grab your weapons from the wooden rack. Throwing knives, dual crossbows, blades, makeshift pistol strapped to your leg. Putting on the bullet-on-a-chain necklace that has long sat around your neck, you reach for the door.
“Just another day.”
Hope you liked it! C&C are greatly appreciated.
