My drumline tied for 1st place in a competition yesterday! Our previous score was a 72.5, but yesterday we got an 81.9. Isn't that awesome!

In brikwars terms, I'm in an elite squad that uses drums and other percussion instruments as our weapons. For the past two months we have been pitting our skills against those of other drumlines at weekend competitions.

Our overlords decide the victor based upon how ear-piercingly precise our beats are and the overall awesomeness of our performance. So, at our last competition, we rolled a skill roll of 72.5 on 1d100. Yesterday we rolled an 81.9 on 1d100. This roll was higher than almost everyone else's roll, thus, we were crowned the champions along with another "elite squad" who made a skill roll of 81.9.

Is that any more clear?

my school's drumline consistently rolls about 95.

WOW! What school do you go to? wait, you probably shouldn't tell me that...

Well, 81 is pretty good seeing as this is only our second year in competition and we're in novice division.

nice! i know that our school did bohemian rhapsody and some dream theater song, but to be fair we have a bassist and a guitarist as well during these segments (and no not me).

Yeah, some lines bring in some form of guitar, but I think it's kind of like cheating. We are called "Winter Drumline", not "Winter group of kids playing drums with a couple of guitarists". The whole point is to not include anything but what you can hit with a hammer, your foot, a mallet, or a stick.

i sort of agree, but as long as the ratio of drummers to other musicians exceeds 20:1 or so, then i'm fine with it.
