I think you should stick with what you've got; it looks perfect so far.

Can't wait to see how this turns out!

Yep, my one and only OTC.
I myself am not real happy with the field, I thought I could do something...grittier or something, enclosed, ruins, or maybe I've been reading ZZD too much and my field expectaions are too high...
On other news, I thought this thing I did years ago (before I could make films that were actually ok) was kinda brikwarsy. Watch at your own risk here
Code is cool 8)

Actually i am quite impressed by that video above. Of course it has its shortcomings like the shaky camwork but it shows that you will be able to handle the complexety of a Brikwars battle. Which is something i was worried about. I love the blood and explosion "effects". Much better this way than digital effects.

One of the reasons I posted it, although it is pretty poor overall as a video, is if it had better animation and sound effects, it might be what an animated brikwars battle would be like

New field

Post by ForlornCreature » Fri Jul 30, 2010 2:54 am

Ok, mostly new field:

(sorry 'bout the big blurry pics)

Image

Setting is the remains of earth after a huge war or something, there are lots of ruins and weapons lieing around from past battles. I think the aim is for the deadly space men to get something in that facility on the left or something.
Deadly space men coming up on the left, some storm troopers at the top (armed forces), a small band of pirates at the bottom (nuetral probably) between a bombed-out house and an old crash site of a ship, and a facility with some armed forces ( + police) on the right.

Image

A dozen or so deadly space men led by their multi-coloured hero, a droid pilot for that landrover they brought, and in the backround on the right an armed forces heavy battle droid awaiting activation, it will obey whoever activates it.

Image

I kept the house from the last attempt, and it's STUFFED with weapons.
Notice the really old crashed ship and the post-apocalyptic ruins.

Image

Armed forces, a couple security robots in the back awaiting activation, all those antenna must do something, I can't think of a reason for the fighting although I think the spacemen should be trying to get something out of the facility. Or perhaps the aim is to destroy that array of antennas or something? Take over the facility?
I'm not sure who should be allied with who, although if I take the pirates off and replace them with a team allied with the spacemen and allie the stormtroopers with the armed forces it should balance it out.

Whaddya think? I am much more satisfied with this, I have about 4 small secret teams as well which I might use.

Maybe Pirates and DSM want to uprise against the Armed Forces and their StormTrooper Mercs?

Ok, I think I've pretty much finished the field. Local aliens and spacemen who normally fight each other over the land of the post-apocalyptic earth, have now banded together to drive away the mysterious armed forces who have set up a research facility.

Teams:

Locals

Faction 1: Deadly Space Men
Faction 2: Aliens

Secret Faction 1
Secret Faction 2

Invaders

Faction 3: Armed Forces
Faction 4: StormTrooper Mercs

Secret Faction 3
Secret Faction 4

This is not sign up next, just showing the teams involved. I will probably make a short animation to introduce it and the teams.

DON'T ASK TO SIGN UP YET

 Okay I'm convinced. Unless there are communication problems, the only restrictions to this games' epic-ness will be time.

Holy crap, if I miss a spot in this I will be miffed.

This is simply awesome, I think you'll be famous on these forums if this turns out well.

@Ross_Varn About 20-30 mins, plus another few editing it the next afternoon. I reckon I could probably do a trun each fortnight, but we'll see how it turns out. Really depends on what kind of orders people send.

I think I'm pretty much finished setting up the field, I'm gonna make a short clip to introduce the teams and then I will put it up on the forum battles for sign up.

And don't worry, if it turns out well enough that you would be sad to miss being in it, then I will probably do more anyway.

Oh yeah, and why can't warhead play again? Ross said something about it earlier.

Ok, I've rendered an introductory animation/trailer and will upload it soon to show you guys before I make a top thread for it in the forum battles index.
