How do I make a Keffiyeh?

Post by Atomsk » Wed Apr 30, 2008 4:38 pm

I want to make a Palestinian army for an upcomming battle, and I'm at a total loss of how to make my Yasser Arafat hero:

A Keffiyeh isn't really the same thing as a turban, and it's got more mass and is longer than a pirate's bandana. Any suggestions on how to make one of these? I'm considering using a white address label around the sides of a white pilots hat:

But I'm afraid it won't come out quite right. Any suggestions? I'm totally open to non-lego materials other than clay. I fraking hate clay.

cut up fabric if you're really looking for authenticity. or, you could cheap out with a pirate bandanna.

Already said no to that.

Though a printed version, if I could make it look right, would be awesome. I could get authentic patterns on it...
