Do these items work together?

Post by Bragallot » Tue Nov 30, 2010 3:22 pm

Can you put these http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x41

on these? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30171

Or do they simply not work together? I don't have the masks so I wouldn't know.

Tried it, and the answer is "yes and no".

It looks convincing but the pieces don't quite click together. Keeping them attached that way for a long time will probably deform the visor piece so that it won't connect as well with other helmets.

I find that they work perfectly, although the visor sticks out from the face a bit too much for my liking.

I hate to be bothering you, but could anyone give me a few pics of how they work together? (I'm thinking of maybe buying some of these visors so I can be economical with my troops and use my Falx heavies as space troops as well when the need arises.)

Yeah it sucks with that helmet, but fits beautifly on this one http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30325. It looks pretty awsome, but unfortunatly they don't have matching color sets.

This.

I think they were made for each other, it's too perfect a fit to be a coincedence. I highly suggest using a few of these for heavier guys, and the visor won't be going up and down while you handle the minifig, since it can't move at all.

The visor doesn't connect fully and it looks very awkward. The visor is almost as big as the helmet itself and sticks out really far from the face. I wouldn't advise it.

I appreciate the feedback, I was expecting like 1 or 2 replies x')

Those rock raider helmets are indeed great but pretty expensive too if I can recall. I already have the aviator helmets for my Falx shock troopers anyway... ;)

I tried both these out today. I've never used the Power Miners Helmet before and it works very well ( :D Thanks aoffan23!) although the visor slopes inwards ever so slightly at the bottom. I had used the (Old American Football skullcap) helmet before and wasn't convinced at the time. However, when I tried them again here it worked very well, I must have had a loose visor or something the first time. Both are solid and fit snugly, but do not expect to flip either of these visors up, it just wont work. The colour is a small issue but Black goes with everything.

EDIT: Oh, OneEye is right the football helmet does stick out from the face, it's not as noticeable in the Power Miner helmet. Personally, it doesn't bother me and I'm sure a neck bracket with goggles or armour would suffice to take any oddness away.
