Germany Summer 2011

Post by piltogg » Sat Feb 26, 2011 9:59 am

I'm going to be heading over to Germany for a week or so as a graduation present this summer. So if any of you European blokes want to have a brikwar against the Akkadian empire, this would be a lovely chance to do so. What week specifically has yet to be decided, so I am pretty flexible as to what time a game could happen at.

(also.... if you are somewhat afraid of meeting the resident naz1 in person, please note that I am only the exceedingly fantastical patriotic type, not the white supremacist dumb-person type intent on killing people who are not German. So you don't really have to worry about that at all.)

Eat a hotdog in Hamburg and a hamburger in Frankfurt. Then your life will be complete as the universe is divided by zero.

Oh, I did that already btw.

This summer would be ideal, I'm taking a couple of simple college courses during the spring so I will have a ton of taxpayer's money to spend.

The "1000 Steine Land" convention takes place in Berlin at the end of july (30th and 31st). That would be the most important Lego convention in Germany this year.

Here are some pics from 2009:

ok, well it now looks like I might end up going on some form of massive two month long excursion throughout the entirety of Europe with a couple of my best friends. So... yeah, lots of opportunities for Brikwars mayhem.

(due to the whole it's really expensive to fly there and I want to see more than just Germany thing.)

Just how many cases full of LEGO do you plan to take with you? And how much do you want to play? Not that there is no time left for sightseeing ;-)

I live in central Germany. So if you want to see the beautifull old university town and/or blast minifigs into oblivion, then come by.

What? A german interested in Brikwars? IMPOSSIBLE!

Do you like to build trains from Lego?

"What you mean is IMPROBABLE and not IMPOSSIBLE." (Does anyone recognise this quote?)

Yes, I'm from Germany.
And Yes, I'm interessted in Brikwars.
And NO! I'm not into trains. Never was. Not even LEGO City. Always thought that every day life is boring. That's why all my LEGO is either pirates or space.

But is this the right place to discuss that?

BTW: The picture of the "1000 Steine Land" with all the pirate ships looks amazing. It would be great to use this for BRIKWARS, don't you agree?

Evuuul war thingies and german AFOLs just won't go together. So yeah, that display was indeed awesome but like all the other exhibits it was only meant to be watched and admired. No touching - let alone playing wargames with it!

I'll just be bringing my army, about 20 exceedingly elite infantry and 4 small support vehicles.
