BrikWar -- May 01, 2011

Post by Natalya » Sun May 08, 2011 2:55 am

Okay so I went to a park with two friends, one of whom has lurked here before, and we played BrikWars. I brought some armies. The guy who lurked here before brought his own guys -- a bunch of underwater BrikThulu worshiper zealots. I took the Akkadians that I've been making for the Head Separator battle, and the other guy chose my ASE dudes.

Image

I started by McDonald's.

Image

The ASE started directly opposite of me.

Image

And here are the not-quite-deployed-yet BrikThulu fanatics.

Image

ROUND ONE -- FIGHT

Image

The ASE won the roll and they got to go first. We went clockwise so Brikthulu guys are next and then me with the Akkadians.

Image

The White Knight started the game by damaging the Kreuzer I had.

Image

Then the Dreadnought destroyed the cultists' yellow car.

Image

Cultist Turn 1 -- The Land Sharks commandeered a semi-tractor and hit the gas straight towards the Akkadians.

Image

BrikThulu threw one of his men at the Dreadnought. At the same time a guy on one of the trikes self-destructed right underneath it. (he was on the back of the black one there.)

Image

Epic Damage Roll -- Bonus D20!!

The Dreadnought lost two of its 3 structure points right there.

Image

Akkadians Turn 1 -- The Kreuzer rams the White Knight at full speed.

Image

And the damage is incredible!! The White Knight is completely owned.

Image

The Akkadians on the right shoot out the windshield on the truck and kill the shark driving it. The other guys also kill some ASE soldiers.

Image

ASE Turn 2 -- The Dreadnought crushes the other cultist bike. The ASE ground soldiers also kill some more cultists.

Image

Everyone else turns on the driver of the Kreuzer and kills him.

Image

Cultists Turn 2 -- The truck crashes into the McDonalds at full speed. Luckily the shark and the guy on the back manage to get off safely. The guy on the back used his harpoon gun to kill an Akkadian.

Image

On the other side the cultists fight back against the ASE soldiers and kill a few of them. The Dreadnought survives though.

Image

Akkadians Turn 2 -- But not into my turn. I fire the tank's main gun at the Dreadnought and it is taken down.

Image

Then the tank rams through the ASE defensive wall while at the same time the commander leaps over and OTC's an ASE soldier in the face.

Image

ASE Turn 3 -- The ASE takes revenge. At this point the sun was setting so lighting is now primarily from my phone's flash.

Image

Cultists Turn 3 -- I seem to have missed some of the ASE turn but I don't think they did much. The cultist shark eats one of my guys while the harpoon guy engages another Akkadian in close combat.

Image

The Cultists also steal the pick-up and attack the ASE with it.

Image

Enter BrikThulu. Instead of making him be a normal hero, we decided that his powers ought to be better than the average hero, but to counter it he would have to eat a minifig to gain his powers. This turn he succeeded in eating one of the cultists and now he gets D12 skill. He uses a feat to jump onto the tank and rip off the gun turret.

Image

And with it he kills the last ASE soldier and the Akkadian sniper.

Image

He also kills the tank driver.

Image

The shark eats my last guy so this battle is over. Victory to BrikThulu and his cultists.

Great battle. It's always nice to see sharks and BrikThulu eating people. Good to see that you're converting more folks.

This is the first outdoor battle I've seen. I've found that lots of sun exposure can turn white bricks a yellowish color. And that was in a sunny room, not direct sunlight.

I was wondering, how did passerbys react? Would be an awesome way to spread the word on Brikwars, methinks 8)

A first-rate battle, Natalya! I hadn't liked them before; but I'm starting to warm up to smaller-scale battles. And this one had just enough vehicles to be juicy.

Nice battle, good pictures, and good report. But the part I loved the best was that you did it outside in the fresh air and enjoied the day along with the game. Wonderful plan. :D

So the plan was to convert people who walked by into BrikWars but it kinda failed because we didn't get a picnic table to do it on. Instead it was on the floor of some weird bench platform thing that is hard to describe because it doesn't make sense. As such we weren't visible to anyone unless they walked right up but only 2 kids did that because they knew the ASE player from high school.

Oh and in-case anyone was wondering, the battle took approx. 2 hours. I think we will get faster the more we play.

Next time bring half-naked cheerleaders to support the teams, success is assured.
