THE BRITANNIAN LEAGUE STATS (As seen in Zombie (Zulu) Dawn)
Moderators: Zahru II, Bragallot, RedRover, Natalya
The elderly space Ironclad 'Vulcan' is presently the mainstay of the Britannic League's White Sector. Once upon a time her etheric ionising engines would have given her a level of speed that few other ships of her size could match. However while the sister ships of her class were fated for the breaker's yard on New Glasgow, 'Vulcan' has been fitted with three experimental OT boosters which have doubled her cruising speed and increased her fuel economy. After her first steaming trials her somewhat pale faced 1st Lieutenant described her performance as, 'Exciting,' before having to be assisted from the bridge.
Despite her two main turrets being armed with the original, but fearsome heavy particle cannons she was fitted with at the New Glasgow shipyards almost 90 years ago now, 'Vulcan' should prove to be still well able to fight her corner.
Due to the Official Secrets Act and the presence of two very large and unsmiling military policemen, your correspondent has been unable to confirm the rumor that 'Vulcan' may be assigned to the defense of Aratus II under the terms of a number of very lengthy and wordy treaty agreements with the ASE.

Those are Armstrong & Whiting patent etheric ionization engines not jet engines. They look strange to eyes more used to the modern Briktonic engine, but in their day they were considered to be the finest money could buy.Hoboman wrote:I love 90% of this ship. But the tail and back jet engine just seem out of place. Not sure what to use in pace of those parts, but in any case I do like the overall look.
The tail does seem a bit too swoopy for a Steampunk warship, but that's wot the shipyard mateys fitted Vulcan up with when she was rebuilt because she now goes faster than she did before.
Thanks for the comments and feedback everyone I will have a go at building further Britannic White Sector ships, but I might have to put in a Bricklink order before I can build anymore like 'Vulcan'.
It would be nice if the other sister ships of this class did manage to escape the breaker's yard because I'm becoming quite fond of the design.
This page has some very interesting Lego Steampunk Ironclads and these are very much the kind of style of vessel I want to be inspired by as I continue to develop the White Sector Fleet.

Not Lego, but this picture from Deviant Art is in every inch of it the spirit of the White Sector Fleet. (Yes I know it's an atmosphere flyer rather than a space ship).
