indeed, I foresee all sorts of usefulness being shown on the screen. (inventory screens that are accessible without pausing the game or blocking my view of the action being one of them)
the only issue I have with it right now is that it looks quite clunky/heavy/big.
Though in the end it all depends on how the game developers view the system, I sure as hell hope it won't end up like the Wii, with many of the major developers ignoring it because they feel it is gimmicky/underpowered.
(I don't understand this weird fetish for processing-power/graphics anyway; I care about gameplay, not wetter I can see individual hairs on the character-models or things like that)
for example: I found the Wii-mote to be absolutely brilliant for shooters (especially after playing Metroid Prime) yet I saw very little good shooters made for the Wii.

Act first, then think, then try to find a way to cover up the horrible mess you made.

Now that you mention it, I guess it does have uses. The only problem with this is the fact that you'd have to look back and forth a lot.
I think this will also get rid of a lot of the motion-sensing gameplay from the Wii, since the controller doesn't seem like it will allow it as much.
