Silenced Weapons & other stuff
Silenced Weapons
In order for a weapon to be silenced, it has to have some indication of a silencer on it or has to be a small (knife, brass knuckle, etc) melee weapon. When you kill a minifig with a silenced weapon, and the death is not in any other minifig's cone of vision, roll a D4.
1= crit fail. All minifigs within 10'' heard the shot.
2= moderate success. Only minifigs within 5'' of the kill hear the shot.
3= success. Only minifigs within 3'' of the kill hear it.
4= Crit success. No one hears the shot.
Same thing applies with knives/brass knuckles/etc.
Skill: Point-blank shots
When the barrel of a minifig's gun can touch another minifig, the minifig with the gun gets +1D6 to his damage and skill rolls, and if the weapon is a pistol, he gets a "silence" roll, as if the weapon was silenced.
So what do you guys think?

Silencers are often used to make it harder to know where the shot came from, not to mask the sound 100%. It is also true that a silencer when used even with subsonic ammo still does not stop all the sound.*CRAZYHORSE* wrote:I always think it amusing that silencers on most weapons IRL don't really silence the weapon that much because the bullets are still super sonic.
But I sometimes think of Brikwars as the action movies of War Games. So in that case even unrealistic things could work if you want them to.
So if you want to say a silencer does mask all the sound so be it.

"silencers" (which, as I understand it, are the same thing as supressors) reduce the "BANG!!!" to more of a "pff!"
It also reduces/eliminates muzzle flash. It does both of these things by redirecting the gases and allowing them to disperse before exiting the barrel. That's why a corpse wouldn't silence a gun, because it requires detailed engineering.
Then again, this is Brikwars.

This should be in the Rulebook somewhere:
"Any problem on earth can be solved with the careful application of high explosives"
-Valkyrie (the movie)
