Miniature painting - tutorials 'n stuffz
Well, many people (two, to be precise) liked my painting tutorials here, and said that I should start a topic. And also I don't want to hijack Karetsu's topic (till I'm finished with my Empire Topic Stealer Banner Bearer mini), so here you are.
I am painting for a year and a half now, not a professional painter, but I know a thing or two. So, Zirrian is open for requests, if you have problems with painting, and you want only TTQ or TTQ+, just put a short and polite request here (such as: please show me how to paint gemstones or I'll grammarnazi you out of the entire site), and I'll do the best I can.
You can find the eye and dwarven face painting guide in karetsu's Mantic painting blog.
And for teasing:

Nice (mordheim?) militia! I'm sure I'll need your help again.
Actually, I must thank you; you have greatly improved my skills on painting, and I'm quite ashamed as I have painted as long as you or even longer and you are soooo much better.
Btw, I finished a dwarf face, it came out well, IMO! Much better than the elf face back in the days. I'll post it soon, please wait...
EDIT: here! Now, it's my time to hijack your thread
From the distance it is usually seen. I didn't want to accidentally ruin a dward soldier's face, so I chose an expendable head.
Now, mistakes can be seen, but nevertheless, I'm happy with it!

Not bad at all. The only thing that you really need to practice is the eye. Don't put down that brush till you are satisfied with it Later you might regret that you've stopped when you had the chance to paint it shitawesomasaurus.
And as I see, your highlights are extreme Not a bad thing, for TTQ they are perfect, it's just my thing that if I paint a mini I want it to look outstanding on the shelf. And that's why I don't make too much progress with my guys.
When I looked at your pictures, suddenly Asterix comics came into my mind I don't know why, but that head totally caught the feeling of it

Thanks! Lol, now when you said it, he is quite an Obelix with a bigger beard
I'll keep practicing with spare heads, I have quite a lot of them now. What do you think, a dot for an eye or an stripe? I personally think a dot is a lot easier to do and harder to mess up..
About the extreme highlights, it's just my style..I like 'em.
