It's been quite quiet on the painting front on me, but I made this guy (if someone is interested)

Epic painting, even if I'm not too big on warhammer.

Nice colors. Next, you'll want to work on your layering; the paint's a little thick.
The straight-from-the-tube opaque look is nice on the shield, where it's supposed to look like a painted surface, but for everything else you'll want to thin the paint with water and build up the colors from thinner transparent layers over the base coat. I can't quite tell from the photograph, it looks like you may have been doing this already on the sword blade.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it.
About the colors, I'm fed up with the usual (nowdays) gw style of making everything dark and sad and so serious. I miss the day when the colors where happy and humorous!
Thanks for the advice! Yes, I can now really see the thickness on especially the scales. And you are right, I have thinned the paints and layered on the sword so it looks like a glowing, magical blade.stubby wrote:Nice colors. Next, you'll want to work on your layering; the paint's a little thick.
