PCS S.P.O.T.

Post by Theblackdog » Tue Jul 15, 2008 7:54 am

A small shuttlecraft I built in the PCS/Star Justice theme. I'm not going to make a gallery for it yet, as it still contains a bit too much grey in the color scheme.

I also built it to transport my hero and jump troopers, which you can see to the right of the ship (my pilot is on the left). My hero is equipped with a JetPack and armed with a Deathgun, and my jump troopers carry Impact Rifles with underslung grenade launchers. The shuttle itself is armed with 2 MKII guns, one MKII blaster, one Targeting Array, and two MKII rockets.

Nice! I could never build a space ship as good as that...

I like the SNOT on top, and It does look very PCSey!

5/5
I think those stats only apply to non-Mexicans.

That is beautiful, man. I always admire SNOT, because I can never get it quite right, and that has some fine SNOT. I also like the troops (I'm a huge sucker for coordinated armies: I always have my squads and platoons and stuff all look the same. Or else).

definitely a 10/10, can't see any improvements needing to be made :)

does it fit your minifigs nicely? other than that I can't think of anything else to say, nice work.
Act first, then think, then try to find a way to cover up the horrible mess you made.

No, the minifigs don't fit nicely. It took me hours to figure out how to get them all inside. In battle, I don't bother actually putting troops inside the vehicles that carry them, unless those vehicles are open topped. Also, while these six minifigs and this particular vehicle are coordinated, my army as a whole is the most random mix of styles, colors, and themes you've ever seen (Basically, it's whatever I have put together at the time), and my regular infantrymen are cobbled together from whatever helmets, visors, bodies, and weapons are remotely appropriate to their TL (TL6).

Thanks a lot for the commentary, guys. I'm glad you like it.

Oh well... No one seems to enjoy coordination like I do.

I do! Coordination is part of my OCD... and therefore everything's themed. Thus why I don't have one big army, just a bunch of tiny themed warbands. I don't have enough to make one BIG themed army... yet. Hopefully we'll be fixing that.

But the point is, don't feel alone, Ace.

Cool. I have 2 mid-sized themed armies myself. Someday, I'm just gonna get fed up with buying minifigs and mix and matching, and just bricklink 100 Blacktron 2 guys...

I don't feel alone now :)

Although, Ace... do you give your themes background fluff? It's become a habit for me (me being a wargamer [both Warhammer 40K and Fantasy] and a roleplayer [D&D, L5R, Savage Worlds, Distress, etc...]) to assign fluff to the themes and armies.

Is that something you do, or should I start feeling lonely again? :P

If by background fluff you mean heroes and back stories, the answer is yes. If not, then I have no idea what you're talking about :?

Giving your army a story, and a background. "Why are they where they are?", "What do they do best?", "What purpose did they set out to fulfill?", "Why do they wear such dorky colors?"... etc, etc.

Also "When do they get snack breaks?", "Can they fit onto a ship without standing on eachother?", and "Are they just conscripted hobos?" are all important questions.
