Darker Shades of Gray - A BrikSpace BrikFilm
I feel that the central protagonist should be one of the fighter pilots, for some reason.

....lotsa progress while I was away.
I like the way that the story is coming along so far. I'm wondering how we're going to manage the space battles...... But oh well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Okay, now that we have our character archetypes, we need to decide:
A) how big is Ship A?
--1) how big I'd ship A compared to ship C?
--2) is ship C able to be easily captured/staffed by the crew of ship A, or does the hommocidal AI controll most of the ship's systems?
B)How many crew members are on ship A?
--1) how many crew members make it on to ship C?
--2)How many are protagonists, and what are their jobs?
C) Character development? We need to find names, approximate ages, motivation, etc.
I'll aid you all in any way I can.

Hey, we're really getting some work done pretty quickly now!
Ship A should be relatively small, perhaps a a couple times larger than say, Serenity from Firefly or the Millenium Falcon. That way we have room for the 6 or so main characters and any Extras we want to fit in.
Since it seems I'll be handling the production side of things I think I can accomplish space battles with a combination of motion control/chroma keying, and key framing. If someone here is good at after effects and has access to those programs, I think it would probably be better if they handling some of the more complicated compositing (large scale battles with flak and tracers flying everywhere throwing light on ships in post production, and all that other stuff) as I am limited to Sony Vegas at home and have no experience with after effects.
If Olonthor did the micro space stuff (or at least the motion capture, I could still do compositing of the raw elements) it may make my job a bit easier and the microspace designs and stuff would be much, much better quality.
Ship C should be larger than Ship A, a destroyer size sort of ship like a battlestar or an Omega class destroyer. The AI would run most of the systems, but they are automated.
Most of the crew are on board ship C when Ship A is hijacked, the remaining two or so ones are killed and maybe we could have one guy who isn't killed who jettisons in an escape pod just before Ship A dissapears. Or maybe he'll remain and we'll have a B storyline with him trying to disable and reveal the position of Ship A and take it back?
Just thought of a couple neat little details, Ship C when boarded should be completely turned off, no life support, artificial gravity or anything. When Ship A is hijacked and our crew turns Ship C's guns against it, Ship A should still be docked and just rip away into hyperspace to flee, damaging one side of Ship C.
EDIT:
Ship C should have an open landing bay with badass fighters like galactica, cause they are just too awesome. I think Oloth should make some original designs that fit the description and feel of this show a bit more. Models for motion control should be a little bit bigger than the average micro microspace ship.

Also, just my two cents here: we need to make sure that if we stick with having the Captain as one of our characters, we need to make sure that he can fill in for any of the other roles to some extent. There's almost always that scene in a series where the Captain goes out with the fighter squadron to accomplish something, or runs back to engineering to kick the shield generator into submission if the engineer is down, etc.

No, use a mixture of animation, green screen, and keyframing.
All people need to do is get a nice clean unicolour background, animate the movement of the ship (even a three year old could it it's so simple) and send me the video file. My building skills and lego collection are far more limited, I mean handling interiorsets would be fine because in a ship it's relatively crampt, but I'm not creative enough or have the cooler pieces for a microspace fleet.
