Well I was figuring that Rocket Droid Commandos (
Or should I make them Rocket Commando Droids?) would be rigged to explosively self destruct in the event of death...
...Bad news is, I've hit a snag with the folding rail gun idea.
The click joints I was using only fold to a 72 degree angle and I think that makes the end hang away a bit too much.

I wish lego droids were more animation friendly.

Here's two ways I cope when these
break.
The right arm is nice because now he can hold a regular gun the correct way. Where as if you just slap on one of these
they hold everything gangsta sideways.
The left arm is just a droid torso slid onto the shoulder and a U clip on the end for a hand. Just using the droid shoulder allows for a lot of versatility since it has a stud and multiple places to clip on stuff.

I've broken quite a few =( Those and the damn legs for both battle and super battle droids are busting on me. Oh and the arms for super battle droids are busting on me now too! It's getting a bit frustrating...

I have 40+ of those. None have broken yet.

How about legs where they clip to the torsos?

Broken any of those?

The ones that I have from the droid battlepack (talking about SBD) snapped all on one day. Without any sign of being previously stressed.

If you slide the arms off of the torso instead of clipping them they aren't as likely to break.
As for the legs, I haven't had any break, but some of mine are pretty loose to the point where the droid won't even stand up straight. I do have somewhat of a solution though: if you take a 1x2 plate and stick it right in the middle on the droid's stud on his back, the end of the plate will help hold the legs in place. I've also noticed that it works for their heads as well.
When it comes to super battle droids, I haven't had any of their limbs break on me yet.

I got a lot of legless and one-armed super battle droids now though =(

UGH this is frustrating!
It seems like someone is asleep when it comes to the Space Skeleton parts Quality control, and as someone wanting to make a droid army that is unnerving.
I don't want to buy two dozen droids in parts only to end up with 12 pairs of usable arms... it's a waste of money!

Yeah, SSB arm connector bits are seriously brittle. I noticed that with the first set I bought of them- don't have many as a result.

Nope. But alot of my minifig torsos and arms are cracking.

You could do a brikwar where some guys go into a scrapyard looking for salvage, and instead stumble across this horde of limbless droids that have been re-animated by some droid/cyborg/robot affecting virus (like appleseed ex machina or whatever).

Well it might be the plastic they're made out of...
...And what are "SSB"s?
