I like the Foo Fighters, but if either they or Sum 41 wins this, I will kill someone. Also, congrats to Dream Theater on its first Grammy nomination in its 26 years.

Personally I would like to see Dream Theater or Mastodon take the award, but wouldn't be surprised if Megadeth gets it just for having the name Megadeth.

My rankings of them:

7-Mastodon - Curl Of The Burl
8-Megadeth - Public Enemy No. 1
9-Foo Fighters - White Limo
10-Sum 41-Blood In My Eyes

Of that list I would pick Dream Theather if only because they are the most talented artist of that collection, and they now also have one of the best if not the best drummer in the world.

That said, Dave Mustaine deserves to win as well. I'm not a true fan of either of them but Metal wouldn't be the same without these bands.

But if I had to put money on it, I would bet on the Foo Fighters. My dad has their last album and even I didn't think it sucked so it must be good.

Seriously though, the Foo Fighters are already a bit of a stretch, but which idiot put Sum 41 in a hard rock / metal category together with Megadeth?

Honestly, I think this list is wrong. The variety of styles simply doesn't fit into the same list. I would simply vote blank to show I'm interested and that I support the musicians.

I understand if he's sick of thrash and doesn't like Megadeth, but picking the Foo Fighters over non-thrash metal bands Mastodon and Dream Theater is nonsensical.
