Used to, quit after my piggybacked deck became obsolete.
Re: Magic: the gathering
I play strictly casual, so not much of an issue for me. I roll an awesome blue-green infect.

I play poison green because I'm an evil and cheap bastard. I've still only won four games with it.
I'm a tournamenter.

I still have my mono-green monster deck I started over ten years ago. I've never played tournaments and never will. My deck was terribly out of date 6 years ago and by now my chances to win anything... I don't want to know them.

Depends on where you play, on my first tournament(my only tournament), I won a deck from 2001 and the people I played against were nice and didn't get mad at me for not coming with a legal deck and not knowing all of the rules.knolli wrote:I still have my mono-green monster deck I started over ten years ago. Or play booster drafts. You get new cards, don't have to know the special rules for divisions or whatever, and you don't have to worry about having an crappy deck compared to hardcore players.

Re: Magic: the gathering
I play a blue artifact deck. Nothing serious. I rarely win.
Currently teaching my girlfriend to play. Also picked up two copies of the "Going Rogue" deck from the Morningtide set and a few boosters. Built a very smooth deck out of that which I'm enjoying quite a bit.

I know 2 people with decks. They ended up with a massive pile of cancels on their cancels.
I think the weirdest deck I ever saw was a chick deck, where all of the cards had to have a girl on them, even sorcerys, instants, enchantments, stuff like that. He fought someone running an eldrazi deck, where almost everything had tentacles. They only realized this part way through.

Re: Magic: the gathering
I had a green bear-only deck. The spells didn't all have bears, but the creatures were all bears.
Re: Magic: the gathering
I had a lot of fun with this back in 1994 to 1998 but by end of '98 I was out of the game completely. It's wierd looking back now at how old my cards were... mostly Limited Edition to Fourth Edition stuff ... Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends, The Dark, Fallen Empires, Homelands, and Ice Age.
Doubt I'd even recognize the game now if I set down at the table. A couple of friends are still into it and when I hear them talk about it I have no idea what they are talking about =/

I play a lot and in all formats. I'm sort of a mixed casual-competitive player, never fully landing on one side or the other.

Re: Magic: the gathering
Hey, I recognize all of those sets! I have a ton of my Dad's old Magic cards that I occasionally do deck-building with, and I often chat with my Junior-year French teacher, who is still a hardcore old school Magic player. Great stuff.morganm wrote:I had a lot of fun with this back in 1994 to 1998 but by end of '98 I was out of the game completely.
