Tairin Federation
I don't know if this really counts since it's not a physical army and I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to build it, but...
May I present to you the Mobile Infantry:
While I was just goofing around with regular building mode in LDD, I've always thougth that the Helmet with Light and Protective Vest combination looks an awful lot like the MI from the movies.
Which, considering the amount of bloodshead and stupid tactics used, probably makes them the perfect army for a Brikwar.
Of course, I mostly created this unit because each of these guys has a doublesided print head, meaning almost all of them have an "Oh CRAP!" face.

Re: Mobile Infantry
You mean, Mobile Infantry from Starship Troopers? I had an awesome troop design for them but I scrapped actually making them.

Re: Mobile Infantry
Finally, you started a thread of your own.
I started off (as you already know) as almost purely LDD and then moved "into the brik" so to speak - so these guys are good for a start, now get your shit together, start building, LDD or not, and impress us.
It has begun.

Well Shadow, my first army's probably going to be Battle Droids, I just haven't unboxed and built my Battle of Naboo set yet.The Shadowscythe wrote:Finally, you started a thread of your own.

These are just the guys I'd WANT to build if I could get the vest and helmets in the same color.
Hopefully they will be someday, considering they do in the regular LDD mode.
When I'm feeling less spazy, I'll whip up some individual profiles and pics.
Re: Tairin Federation
Damn it, I have an essay I should be working on instead of doodling with Lego and creating these badass motherfrackers...
The Deadly SpaceMarines!
Sometimes, there are problems the Tairin Federation can't solve by throwing wave after wave of men at.
Namely, the ones that occur in areas where those men can't breath, such as in space.
For these situations, they have a special corps of warriors whose sole purpose is to kill anything that dares to think a lack of hospitable atmosphere is enough to protect it.
Rumored to be genetically engineered from the first Deadly SpaceMan himself, each Deadly SpaceMarine is a one-man special förces unit, normally used for task such as ship-boarding actions and Black operations.
Their EVA pack gives them unprecedented mobility when approaching a target, while a short RT beamsaber allows them to cut their way into anything.
These lend themselves well to one of the Deadly SpaceMarines favorite tactics; stealthy floating up on an enemy SHIP, cutting a large hole in the hull, watching everyone get vented into space, killing any survivors, and piloting the now empty ship back to friendly space for repair.

Re: Tairin Federation
That guys looks both badass and useful. Show us moar LDD skillz.
Re: Tairin Federation
Yeah, it's a shame that I can't build the Mobile Infantry, because his parts are actually available.BFenix wrote:That guys looks both badass and useful.
But I think a whole army of Deadly SpaceMarines would water down their uniqueness and leave them looking generic.
...Also, his helmet bits are pretty expensive.
Later, right now I'm too drained from failing to get that essay to lenght and dreaming up a movie treatment for the Starship Troopers novel.BFenix wrote:Show us moar LDD skillz.
I'll probably build some aircraft and mech for the women, as well as some Bugs for them to fight against.

Re: Tairin Federation
I'm assuming you're giving it guns to hold, but are you complementing that with shoulder or back dakka?

I was planning on giving shoulder-mounted Rockets, but now that I've started trying to finish the cockpit I'm not sure if they'll be room.
