The Playlist.

Post by Timedude » Sat Mar 03, 2012 10:32 am

My kingdom for a topic.

Oh wait.

Talk about what you've been playing / are playing. Think of it as the Kotaku "What are you playing this weekend?" post, except perpetual.

What am I playing?

Well, just finished Arkham City a couple days ago (the main story, at least). Currently playing War for Cybertron on and off (not quite as cool as I thought it would be), Rayman Origins with the girlfriend (quite fun, we're both enjoying it), and Cave Story "classic" and Spelunky on the laptop (both recommended, though cave Story kinda had fits and starts and Spelunky is.. Well, Spelunky). And I'm always tinkering with my personal MUGEN build.

There's also the next-to latest Humble Bundle (for Android) which I've been playing a fair amount lately, mostly Edge and Osmos.

What are you guys playing?

Most of my time on the PC I waste either with Minecraft (although not as much as last year), "League of Legends", "X-COM - Terror From the Deep" (a really old classic for DOS whose prequel gets a remake these days) and "The Settlers Online", a browsergame. Then there are the P&P RPGs I play with friends on a regular basis: "Das Schwarze Auge" (The Dark Eye) and starting next week "Warhammer Fantasy RP".

I also like to read novels. Roght now I'm in the middle of the "Star Wars - X-Wing" series. After that it's back to "Song of Ice and Fire" and "Wheel of Time". If you can recommend other good novels, I am eager to learn.

Why play TFD when you can play the original X-Com? Space aliens are much cooler than sea aliens!
Wheel of Time is totally awesome- I'm up to the eighth book, and then my google-fu ran dry and I was unable to get any more.

Winding down on Skyrim.

Because I'm playing them all one after another and already conquered Cydonia. Right now my Aquanauts are on the 3rd level of T'Leth.

I got the first six (?) volumes second hand for about 5 bucks, bought the next ones separately and now I have to wait for the last ones to be written.
Do you know that there is a Wheel of Time RPG loosely based on D&D? According to that Rand is about lvl 7 or 9 when he killes the first Forsaken. I'd like to play it.

Warlight mostly. I've been spending alot of time on Magic and reading and penises lately, so I haven't had much time to do much else.
