Dark Souls

Anyone else play this game? It's a lot of fun once you get the hang of it, and it can get pretty :666: at times.

Almost able to use the Black Knight Great-sword. That is going to be a lot of fun. At the moment though, any attempt to use it in combat will result in my arms popping out of their sockets.

I've noticed in multiplayer that almost nobody attacks an opponent while they bow before a fight. It's interesting to see society form unspoken rules in front of you. Also, you will scream at the first guy who stabs you while you bow.

I found it a lot more forgiving than Demon's' Souls's', although that's likely because when I played DS, I already had 100+ hours of DeS under my belt. I'd like to go back and play DeS and see how it compares now that I've played the poop out of both.

Also D____ Souls is my favourite new IP of this generation. I really do hope they continue it, although I'd prefer a better publisher than Namdai Banco Games.

If you go melee, get an ultra greatsword. They are hilarity given large deadly form. Once you can weild one in one hand, your life is complete.

I have a maxed fire Zweihander, which I believe was an ultra greatsword.
He's an agile character, even in black iron armour with Zweihander in one hand, shield in other, and dark grain ring for crazy cartwheel attackan'.
Throw on a creepy mask like

and you're good to go. The game is tense enough as it is, in treacherous levels like Crystal Cave or the Tomb of the Giants the monsters and thin precipices alone are enough to send you to your doom.
Having a freaky phantom spinning at you with a flaming ultra sword is enough to drive one mad.

Hey wait a minute.
That ref started his fancy ref move way before the guy was pinned.
Then hit the mat with his hand exactly at the right moment.

...

Its almost as if he knew it was going to happen. :?

Sen's makes up for it by having a pitifully straightforward boss. Do you know how to get to the bottom floor inside? The only way I know of is leaping down, but I can't survive the floor. That basement is I think the only place left I haven't explored in the game.

also, here's a collection of builds (fun, silly, serious, etc) for anyone interested

The iron golem sounds especially fun for trolling in Sen's.

Why can't I hold all this stamina?

To be honest, these are what tempt me the most into going out and buying this shit so I can have an awesome Pig Knight or something.

My best character in Demon's Souls was a thief, but by my second playthrough I was using buttloads of magic and swinging around the Northern Regalia like a boss.

Fuck False King Allant, by the way. Dorian's a bitch too (but I killed his ass anyways!)

God dammit I got suckered back in. I ended up buying it less than a week ago and now I have the Lord Vessel. Just thought you guys should know 'bout my Ninja Wizard.
