I'm usually not a fan of dramatic ceremonies, but that opening ceremony was amazing.

FENCING FTW!!!!
I kind of find it stupid that they spend forty billion dollars on this stadium and ceremony. That money could have been spend in much, much, better ways. But the ceremony was pretty cool...
Also, can anyone help me find a schedule for the olympics? The NBC schedule is wrong, it said 10:00 for fencing, and guess what happened at 10? NO FENCING, JUST BLEEDIN' SWIMMING! (No offense Bonn) Stipid schedule. Anyone know a way to find schedules?

I think those stats only apply to non-Mexicans.
Phelps is amazing man. I remember rooting for him 4 years ago. I feel proud of my country whenever we win a medal. And with Phelps, we heard our beautiful anthem many times.
And what a way to start! He beat the record by a whole body length!
I saw the end of woman's fencing. America took all three medals. The final bout between the two rivals was okay, but I wish they had shown the more dramatic battles between countries.

Yeah, I saw some of that, but it was about midnight where I was and I went to bed. And that was Women's Sabre, by the way.Adean wrote:Phelps is amazing man. I remember rooting for him 4 years ago. Just thought i'd post the standings,
Gold Silver Bronze Total

2. South Korea 3 2 0 5
3. United States 2 2 4 8
I'll try to remember to update this

I find it silly that America won all three medals for women's sabre.Dr. X wrote:Yeah, I saw some of that, but it was about midnight where I was and I went to bed. And that was Women's Sabre, by the way.
But don't worry, my fellow countrymen. We'll show those buggers in Vancouver.
Often, literally, a pillow fight but may include similar situations like volleyball, particularly when wardrobe is skimpy and the action is bouncy.

the opening ceremony was amazing, especially the lighting of the torch.
Did anyone notice how when they lifted that guy up on the cables and tilted him so that he could run sideways he almost dropped the torch? Seriously though, he is probably the only person ever to run around the ceiling of an arena sideways. It was like watching Super Mario Galaxy.
The irony of the fact that his name was Li Ning was not lost on me, either.

I said "no" to drugs, but they just wouldn't listen...

And that would be awesome if he dropped the torch and it landed on a fat lady's head, and she screamed and then slammed into a wall.
