The Olympian

Post by UmbraPhasmatis » Sat Jun 16, 2012 10:34 pm

Hello all, I'm new to the forums, despite having played this game since the Advanced Rules were the main ruleset. I just finished this for my fledgling army today, hopefully it'll see action soon. I present the Olympian dreadnaught.

Image
The Olympian stands roughly two times the height of a minifig, has one of the oddest leg structures I've ever built, and sports a Mk. I missile and a laser cannon on one arm and a minigun on the other.

Image
The Olympian's rear. The compartments on the back open up (after clamps are released) for both tool storage on the left and power storage on the right. Both legs have grav-boosters that allow it to sprint in lieu of attacking.

I haven't made stats for it yet; those will come soon. Enjoy in the meantime.

-brilliant design, cool username, excellent potential for a faction, and I'm looking forward to getting to know a veteran of the game. Well met, Διπλή Πνεύματος.

Thanks, though I must confess that I fudge as much as I follow the rules, because structure is for the weak.
As much as I like this guy, his legs drive me crazier than I already am. They're literally held on by just one of those 1x1 stud clasps and they come off a little easier than I'd like.
The rest of the Phobian Marines will come soon.

Nice design! The compartments in the back are especially creative/useful.

If the leg design could be improved it's great.

When an angry old guy is immortalized, he is known as a Crabby Dreadnought.

Seriously, the legs remind me of a crab's legs, which makes me smile. :D

The legs indeed are a tad on the odd side, but I like how they have some form of knees. All I would do is take the circular radarthingies off them, and replace them with more white bricks (unless they have a specific function).
Brickwars: the only tabletop wargame that allows the units to have sexual intercourse with each other, produce offspring, and then use said offspring as Size 1 Explosives.
