PURPLE WIZARD CORPSE: Do you know about Elbereth? It's a good last ditch effort. Shift + e, then - to write with your finger and write Elbereth exactly. Writing with your finger is prone to spelling errors, but you can write it out in 1 turn. If you properly spell it, the mimic will release you and flee on it's next attack turn (given that the correct spelling is still there). Not all monsters respect Elbereth (like @ ..shopkeepers, and Angels and whatnot)

PURPLE WIZARD CORPSE: What? No, you can safely enter shops without pissing off the shopkeeper (given that you don't attempt to kill the shopkeeper and just want to do straight business). Destroying his door will piss him off though, as will certain attempts to steal his goods.




PURPLE WIZARD CORPSE: Oddly enough, the shopkeeper doesn't get pissed by pets and their crazy antics. Must be a PETA lover. And yes, you can use this to your super advantage.

IVASSCUS: Excellent. This will score me some points when it's time for MethHouse to pick me to be next King of Mocia.




PURPLE WIZARD CORPSE: You just need to be careful with shops (especially at low levels with the mimics). If you see an item that doesn't belong, it may be a mimic. If the door is locked and it's a shop that's closed for inventory, leave it alone until you have a method to open the door.
