The Hollowed

Post by Scratch » Thu Aug 02, 2012 3:16 pm

After the war of the Dragon God, The Mark of The Beast began appearing on about one out of five newborns. Those afflicted with the mark would, after death, rise up as mottled, discolored, partially insane, Undead. They still possessed their memory and skills, but would slowly Hollow out and become more broken and insane as the months and years progressed.

The Order of The Humble Hollow is a group of dragon god devotees that, upon hollowing, cover their faces with Skull masks to hide the shame of the Peach-colored disfigurement.

The full assembled strength of The Humble Hollow and the Warrior Hollow (humble hollow have the skull masks on)

Image
The first company, Known as the Crossed Sabers consists of 15 warrior hollows and 5 humble spear-hollows

Image
They are led by a Hollow who had an Ego when he died, and as such became a hero, and his officer, the Headsman.

Image
The second company, known as the Cracked Skulls, has the same composition as the first. 15 Saber 5 Spear.

The Nordic commander of the second company, Garret Greyaxe, and his Wife, Mina Greyaxe. (she got his family axe as part of the marriage agreement)

D'awwwwwwww

Total strength, 50 figs.
They are under equipped compared to the other factions, but they are meant to be more like cannon fodder than the other armies.

This is my personal spin on the undead, rather than being just mindless skellies or loathsome peaches, they are an insane group of murderous raider-paladins.

You should totally make a dragon to compliment the group. Then the dragon and these forces could be mortal enemies of my Holy Dragon and his fanatics.

Pretty cool. Good use of skellie heads. Needs more axes. And black.

Thanks! I have the Dragon God built (the term "built" may be deceiving) , but he is not ready for showcase yet. All my axes are in use with the Dragon Merc Company, but I will make their color scheme darker. Not either of those, but a Dark Souls reference, in that game those with the Dark Sign reanimate after death and will go "hollow" (insane) after a time, the undead units (as well as the player character) are referred to as Hollow.

What else are peaches for if not cannon fodder, and evil?

They make cool antagonists:

The most important thing is that people need to want to kill your antagonists, and that's something peaches automatically have.

I just realized that your demon general and my faceless merc leader use almost the exact same parts. Possible sub-conscious inspiration may have happened.

I still feel that The Hollowed would be perfect enemies of The Order of The Holy Dragon.

Even with the tech level difference of about five, since my army is more of a horde but since the Dragon God is more deific than the Holy Dragon, it would make an even fight, if they somehow meet in a battle at full strength, which will be unlikely. However the Holy Dragon will be noted in the Golden Book of the Dragon as the great deceiver or as The False One.

I was just thinking that since your guys wear skull masks, the Holy Dragon wouldn't like them because of his hatred of the undead. The 2 dragons being rivals would be a cool reason for conflict too.

Also, more godlike, eh? Interesting. If your dragon is supposed to be more godlike than The Holy Dragon, then I can't wait to see him. :D

They are actually undead, just instead of decomposing or losing their skills in death, they keep their knowledge, they just go insane after a year or so.
