Re: BW 2010 feedback
Hey so would an OTC just be a regular melee weapon with a supernatural D20?

No. The OTC transcends anything as simple as an extra die here or there. The OTC is the archetypal example of a Heroic Weapon (6.4: Heroic Weapons).IVhorseman wrote:Hey so would an OTC just be a regular melee weapon with a supernatural D20?

It's my secret dream that Brikwars gets Mike into legal trouble, resulting in the legal disclaimer getting read aloud in court.Keldoclock, In the Halloween thread wrote:It is the secret dream of every forum member to kill Mike Rayhawk and steal all of his Lego.

Mike, found a small error in the Creatures section. According to 10.1, only full dice are allowed for use when it comes to Skill, but the Professor Monkeyhead example mentions him having a 1d6+2 Skill die.
Brickwars: the only tabletop wargame that allows the units to have sexual intercourse with each other, produce offspring, and then use said offspring as Size 1 Explosives.

We're talking average rolls here. With bonus dice, 1d10 usually comes out to about 6 damage. 1d6 by itself is usually 4. 1d8 comes out to about 5. By that logic, 1d6(4) + 2 = 6 = 1d10.
2d6 comes out to 8, and subtracting 2 also gives you a 6 average.

Id10 comes out to a 5.920 average, 1d6 4.200.IVhorseman wrote:We're talking average rolls here. With bonus dice, 1d10 usually comes out to about 6 damage. 1d6 by itself is usually 4. 1d8 comes out to about 5. By that logic, 1d6(4) + 2 = 6 = 1d10.Falk wrote:I thought that 2d6-2 =1d10
I'm changing the conversions though, since critfails and bonus dice have been growing in importance as this edition develops.
The d6 equivalent for a d10 will be 1d6+2. 2d6-2 only critfailed 1/36 times, which is not enough for my satisfaction.
The d6 equivalent for a d12 will be you don't get a d6 equivalent for a d12. If you're not gamer enough to have fancy dice, then the d12 is too good for you.

I dunno, isn't the right attitude for brikwars.... maybe if you could word it somehow to make fun of another miniatures game?stubby wrote:If you're not gamer enough to have fancy dice, then the d12 is too good for you.

BrikThulhu eats 1d6 minifigs each turn.
Re: BW 2010 feedback
You make a compelling argument. Instead, how about this: 1d12 = 1d6x2. Critfails on a 1, only +1 bonus die on a 6.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
So the results are
FAIL at 16% , 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 +1d6
I think a d12 would be preferred.

Critical failure's actually up around 33% - but so is success.Tzan wrote:So the results are

Sounds a lot more complicated than 1d6+3 if you ask me, even if you're guaranteed to roll at least a 4. It's (supposed to be) rare enough that I think a little bit of unfairness is okay.
