They've had to make small compromises to attract a playerbase. The original Planetside wasn't sunshine, rainbows, and lollipops either. It had some MAJOR problems, just like any game.Whiteagle wrote:Yeah, it's an alright Shooter...

Re: Planetside 2
I enjoyed playing it, but I have been on Xcom since it came out.
I might move back soonish for a while.
I found that playing in a team helped with the whole "where is fight" problem because we could take places as a group.
But I also found I could get more points by being solo and following the zerg and eventually getting into a big fight, usually at Crown.
I could maintain a positive kill to death rate only when solo.
In a group, because you need to play a team role, I died more frequently.
Of course that stat only has the meaning that you put on it.
Its totally worth jumping in and trying it out for 10-20 hours.

Re: Planetside 2
Just had an interesting conversation with Eagle. He questioned why we use the tactics we do, when a several hundred man outfit from PS1 does the same thing.

This outfit, For Brikwarriors predominantly, run by Brikwarriors, inspired by a Brikwarsy book and film(different though they may be), is one thing- OUR Outfit. We lead it, we control it, we use it to play with each other. In the end, the most important rule of Brikwars stands for this outfit-
Having Fun.
Got it now, Eagle?

Go to the Web site and register.SnakeMittens wrote:So... I'm in. How should I go about joining you guys?
They're going to probably wipe before launching on the 20th, so we'll be able to keep in touch even if we have to change our names.

Re: Planetside 2
So, I would get on, but my game crashes shortly after launching. Any ideas for a fix?

I was only on for 5 min. buying stuff with certs and then I watched some tv, no crash.
The only work around I know of is when you are at the Play button, don't hit it.
Then wait for the next fix.

New patch on Friday
You should always read the PS2 Forum.
Everything was working fine when I was playing a month ago, so maybe wait til...

Friday
http://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/inde ... -12.42528/Players will have basic health regeneration, this will kick in about 20 seconds after you've taken damage and take about 40 seconds to fully heal a very hurt player. It's not meant to replace combat health regen (like med kits, or medics)
You should always read the PS2 Forum.
Not sure if I would do that.I don't have the time to read all the posts so I don't know if it has already been mentioned, but I've found this solution for Vista and Win7 users in another thread.
I am no expert so I've no idea what it does exactly, but it worked for me so I wanted to share
I had frequent crashes (each 30-45 mins) but by following these instructions I've been able to play 3-4 hours without crashing.
Also, it could be a good hint for you guys developing this great game!
Windows 7/Windows Vista
* In Windows 7/Vista go to Start menu. Go to Accessories. Locate the command prompt shortcut and hover mouse over it. Right Click on the shortcut then select Run as Administrator.
* In the command prompt type this exactly: bcdedit /set increaseuserva 2500. Then hit enter.
* Make sure you get a message back confirming the change was made. To verify the entry is there you can type just bcdedit, hit enter, and you should see the entry now listed.
* Then close the command prompt. You just told Vista to increase user virtual address (userva) space to 2500MB.
* Changes take effect on reboot
Hope it helps as it helped me

Re: Planetside 2
So I was just in for several hours and no crash.
Currently on Thebe (west) [which was previously the only US server up]
Tzann Rank 5
Looks like the Outfit has been erased.
Was that Whiteagle with the name "white".
That guy was proximity talking to me, so it was just garbled and had no idea what he was saying.
