Re: Archangel
MGB asked me to do some work for him. Figured I'd keep you people updated as long as I'm here.

Re: Archangel
That's pretty sweet. How is the game being programmed?

Re: Archangel
Gamemaker, for the moment. The language is a lot like java which is subsequently a lot like C. It's rather easy to pick up, provided that one enjoys programming.

Re: Archangel
Ladies and gentlemen, Jack Havern. I hope it's close to what you imagined MGB.

Re: Archangel
Half Life is a key source of inspiration for the game.

Re: Archangel
Can you draw well, do pixel art, or program?
If you answered "no," then you can walk away.

Re: Archangel
Okay, then tell me what you can do or think you can learn to do. I always appreciate more help, but I just want to know if you actually think you CAN help.

Re: Archangel
No the game's not dead, just progressing slowly.
Here we have a special soldier from the Nighthawk's ranks, the Sniper.
Equipped with basic armor, you would figure he wouldn't stand out much from the rest of the Troopers. You'd be dead wrong.
This guy was intensively trained in marksmanship, close quarters combat and camouflage. Even in the tightest and farthest target, the Sniper can put a bullet in there with extreme precision.
Sporting an advanced targeting system integrated into a ballistic helmet, he can calculate bullet trajectory, sample the neighboring atmosphere for levels of temperature, humidity and eventually wind, in order to get the perfect shot. Also, the visor enables special vision modes like Infra-Red and Night Vision. Bearing a semi automatic lightweight sniper rifle made nearly entirely of highly resistant polymers with the exception for parts who suffer more stress like the barrel and chamber, extremely powerful shots are guaranteed without the need of a heavy, low mobility sniper system. Loaded with super sonic armor piercing rounds, there will be few armor systems or cover that can protect you from such an ammunition. Plus, with a variable zoom scope attached with a micro red dot sight for quick and close target acquisition, the Sniper can quickly redirect his fire to dispose closer enemies, in case he won't have time to switch to his side arm or CQC blade. (the sniper rifle was vaguely inspired by HK's PSG-1)
In the future, the Sniper's armor will be equipped with a small-sized, low signature power pack to supply an optic camouflage cloak.
Watch those long tunnels and hallways, you might not know of the Sniper's presence until it is too late!
