Brikwars RPG A beautiful day in hell 3 spots left

Post by alphafalcon541 » Sat Jan 12, 2013 2:11 pm

Hey guys Alphafalcon bringing you a Brikwars RPG using Zuppon's rules and mine combined. I did ask Zuppon if I could use the rule-set just so you guys know. This is going to be run more like an RPG where characters may talk to NPC's or just kill them (as long as it's fun for everyone I don't care). The field is almost complete and the enemies are finished and ready. The rules below are exactly the same as Zuppon's except for a couple of changes and additions by me. Hope everyone enjoys whats coming.

Each player will come up with their character's name and class. These are for you to decide. They can be as specific or as detailed as you want. All I want is to be able to create a minifig for the character that is somewhat what he/she should look like. I will take as much creative license as I need to with my limited (not really limited but different) amount of pieces I have. Pictures are fine just know your character probably won't look exactly like it. I do like some room to be creative so be nice with your descriptions.

Next, I want each player to come up with 1 or 2 items for their character to be equipped with. The items are Ranged Weapon, Close Combat Weapon, Shield, and Explosive. Again, you can be as specific or unspecific as to what these items are and I will try and match what you want as best as I can. I just need you to categorize each one of them with one of the 4 categories. If you just want to give me the category, then that's fine too.

Each player will have 5 skill points to spend to create their character. Stats are loosely based off of the Brikwars rules. You may spend your skill points on Skill, Move, Armor, Ranged Weapon, and Close Combat Weapon to a maximum of +3 skill to that attribute. These skill points will improve the appropriate skill or weapon by +1 skill each. (Note: If you have more than 1 Ranged or Close Combat Weapon, please refer to them as Ranged Weapon 1 or 2 or Close Combat Weapon 1 or 2)

Character Skill Chart
Skill
+0: 1d6
+1: 1d6+1
+2: 1d8
+3: 1d10
Move
+0: 5"
+1: 6"
+2: 7"
+3: 8"
Armor
+0: 4
+1: 5
+2: 6
+3: 7
Ranged Weapon
+0: Use:3, Range:6", Damage:1d6
+1: Use:3, Range:7", Damage:1d6+1
+2: Use:3, Range:8", Damage:1d8
+3: Use:3, Range:10", Damage:1d10
Close Combat Weapon
+0: Use:2, Damage:1d6
+1: Use:3, Damage:1d8
+2: Use:4, Damage:1d10
+3: Use:3, Damage:2d6
Shield
Use:2, 1d6 damage parry or 2" shove
Explosives
Use:Once, BOOM!

Please format your submissions in the following format or they will be ignored and/or mocked/laughed at, and you will cry:

(Name)
(Class)
(Item1, Item2)
(Skill Point 1)
(Skill Point 2)
(Skill Point 3)
(Skill Point 4)
(Skill Point 5)
(Optional:Backstory?)

Example:
Hammerman
Knight
War Hammer, Shield
Armor

Skill
Close Combat Weapon
Close Combat Weapon
Backstory

Each character is going to have 1hp, just like a normal minifig, so if your character dies, then that's the end for you (unless they get raised as a zombie or something). There will also be a system sort of like the Almighty Benny system where if the GM (me) decides that if an action preformed by a character pleases me, then they will be awarded a skill point to be allocated as soon as it's received. These actions can really be anything as long as they are awesome. The giving out of skill points is to promote exploration and awesomeness in the game, which is what I believe makes a game fun. I will fudge movement if it gets people into action quicker.
Sure. I'm fine with you using the rules. I'm always looking for suggestions about how to make them better, so if you come up with anything, just let me know. The only thing I recommend is that when no players are in combat situations, fudge the movement to keep things moving along. Something I noticed in the first BrikwaRPG was that there were a few turns where the players just moved and didn't attack, so I want to avoid that. It keeps the game engaging and fun IMO.
Thank you Zuppon for the rule-set. I am currently working on my own RPG rules for Brikwars, so they might be out in another two weeks. Characters must be in by Wednesday. I will allow 8 people to join, so get to spots early. Enjoy

Name: Rorke "The Fork" James Wooton
Class: Unsuccessful Criminal
Description: Typical mobster clothes or teenager clothes. Black hair.
Item 1: Cheap knife, though a bat or stick would work too.
Item 2: Grandpa Joe's lucky Grenade
Skill

Skill
Close Combat Weapon
Close Combat Weapon

Backstory: Rorke was born to an affluent family in an upscale neighboorhood. During his childhood, he ran away from home to pursue his dream of being a mobster with only a sharpened kitchen knife and one of Grandpa Joe's souvenir weapons. He has tried every petty crime in the book, from random acts of violence to common swindling and failed miserably at it. The police didn't see him as a career criminal, but as an annoying teen who couldn't steal candy from a baby.

That was until yesterday, when Rorke made his first successful crime. As initiation to a local gang he stabbed an elderly blind man with a fork, and stole his wallet. Now, Rorke finally has a chance to see his dream through.

Get a random beard (surely you have one of those) and use round studs and 1x1 plates if you don't have stubby legs.

Item 1: Recording Mic
Item 2: Revolver
Skill Point 1- Armor
Skill Point 2- Armor
Skill Point 3- Skill
Skill Point 4- Skill
Skill Point 5- Ranged Weapon

Backstory: From a young age he was told he should go into 1 of 2 different occupations, either a reporter, or a rapper. He too believed this and after college, he set out to Brikywood to make it big in either one. Because of his great charisma and years of singing lessons, he got both. He is now the major war reporter for NCR's National News Station, and has had 3 albums made. He was actually on vacation at the moment, but saw all these people with guns gathering around, and decided that there could be a great story brewing. Luckily he never leaves home without his favorite Revolver.

Bill is the best treasure hunter around. His skills at digging things up is second to none. Mostly this is because of how awesome his trusty shovel is, but his nose can pick up something buried from a mile away.
