Real Men of the Galaxy Patrol
The Galaxy Patrol are the armies of the Protofig. Now inert and lifeless, his origins are lost in to history, but it is known that he was the earliest Fig in The Galaxy. The earliest recorded histories show him acting as an advisory figure to the first modern, fully-formed Minifig, a golden-armored proto-hero. Together they battled against creatures that were clearly related to the noodle-armed giants found in tales throughout the rest of the BrikVerse, in the time before the coming of the Deadly Spacemen and the explosion of Minifig life that would follow.
The Galaxy has gone through several periods of slowed expansion since those early Rekonstruktions, times during which the influx of new ABS slows to a crawl or even stops for several Rekonstruktions at a time. During the most recent of these Dim Ages, Galaxy Sciences noted an aberration in some of the new Minifigs. It was determined this was a corruption in the fabric of the ABS itself- during The Galaxy's period of low contact with the greater Brikverse, something fundamental had shifted. Regarded as a mere curiosity, the peach Minifigs were accepted- until the hideous mutation was revealed in its full form: terrible facial deformities- wide, googly eyes; heavy brows; drooling, gaping mouths. This threat to pure Minifigs could not be tolerated. The Ministers divined it to be the will of the Protofig that the Peach menace be eradicated from The Galaxy, traced back to its source and burned out like the hideous infection it clearly is. Thus in r.2,012 was the Galaxy Patrol raised; mighty armored warriors created using the secret sciences and magicks left behind by the Protofig, created to defend the citizens and borders of The Galaxy from threats of all sorts. In r.2,013 the First Patrol was launched into the greater Brikverse to seek out the source of the Peach mutations and put an end to them once and for all.
A standard Galaxy Patrol Trooper. He wears Power Armor and carries a Bolt Gun.
The Boltgun is so named because it fires packets (or "bolts") of Godwyn energy.
While the Bolter is the standard issue weapon of the Galaxy Patrol, specialist weapons are also distributed to each squad. Here we have a Plasma Wave Cannon (at left) and Plasma Wave Gun (at right).
As you can see, the Plasma Wave Cannon includes a massive power plant backpack. This takes advantage of the Leg-Godt Universal Interface system, a series of universal mounts that allow extra equipment to be rapidly added and interfaced with the armor's complex internal systems. The current Leg-Godt Universal Interface configuration is designated Zeta.
A standard Galaxy Patrol squad. A Sergeant and four Troopers, one with a specialist weapon (in this case, the Plasma Wave Cannon). The Sergeant carries a Power Sword and Bolt Pistol.
Galaxy Patrol troops are often accompanied into major conflicts by Dreadnaughts, massive war robots uploaded with an amalgam of the skills, instincts, and abilities of the greatest Galaxy Patrol heroes throughout history. The neural linkage also uploads bits of the personalities of the Patrolmen whose skills are added to the Dreadnaughts; fortunately this causes few conflicts as the personalities of Galaxy Patrol heroes tend to be very similar.
Dreadnaughts have swappable armament (the system is an early precursor of Leg-Godt Universal Interface Zeta). This most common main armament is a twin beam cannon mount.
The most common secondary armament is a huge fist capable of punching, tearing, crushing, and poking the enemy. Also capable of very clumsy manipulation, best limited to items that lack tactical importance.
The Dreadnaught's back is far less armored that its front.

Awesome! The only thing I'd suggest is to swap out the sword for a chainsaw/chainsword.

Re: Real Men of the Galaxy Patrol
I agree with Zupponn. I also thought you had like thirty of those guys. Where are the rest of them?
You should make a Rhino-styled transport, as well. And I'd better not see Robot Monkey come into this thread and try to convince yet another person to build a Land Raider, although it would actually be appropriate this time.
The Dreadnought looks really nice.

I have sixty-five of them. Currently 10 are carrying chainswords. We'll get to them eventually.aoffan23 wrote:I agree with Zupponn. I also thought you had like thirty of those guys. Where are the rest of them?
Actually, I've been watching Pick-A-Brick to see when light grey laser sword hilts reappear; they're used in my Chainsword build. I need a few other bits here and there too, like enough parts to fill out the last 20 or so Bolters, parts for the Jump Packs, and so on.
The First Sergeant there has the honor of carrying a Power Sword (and wearing the alternate face) because he was the first Galaxy Patrol I bought.
I am working on a Razorback equivalent. You should make a Rhino-styled transport, as well.
I don't know that the main battle tank will end up looking like a Land Raider... my Land Speeder equivalent looks more like a Cobra Trouble Bubble. And I'd better not see Robot Monkey come into this thread and try to convince yet another person to build a Land Raider, although it would actually be appropriate this time.
Thank you!The Dreadnought looks really nice.

Re: Real Men of the Galaxy Patrol
Do you have assault marines? If you do, give their sergeant a power axe, preferably the BT axe if you have any.

Re: Real Men of the Galaxy Patrol
I'm working on two Assault squads, although I'm still noodling around with the Jump Pack build. One Sergeant has lightning claws (like the ones from the Price of Persia sets, not Wolverine's) because Jump Pack + Lightning Claws = badass, and the other has a spear in order to take advantage of the Charging rules. I was thinking of giving it an axehead and now that you mention it I do have whichever Heroica game comes with the BT axeheads so that's what I'll probably give him.aoffan23 wrote:Do you have assault marines? Real smooth man, I dig these guys!
Like the upgrades to their standard blaster.
I was just thinking today "What's something cool I could put on that single stud in the back of their armour that would do them great justice and possibly make them more awesome?" Thank you for showing me the way.

While I don't take sides in the yellow/peach racial conflict and I pretty much always hate when Lego is used to mirror 40K, I find this to be acceptable somehow. Also, pretty. Maybe its the backstory. Could be the pretty. Regardless, I look forward to seeing what you've done with the rest of your fuckton of galaxy patrolmen.

I don't mean to point out the obvious, but is that plasma wave gun just a dildo with a pistol grip?

Thanks guys! Feel free to use anything you want/can reverse engineer/can get me to explain coherently.samuelzz10 wrote:so fucking amazing. can I steal that electric pack?
Thanks, I'm glad they rise above their base nature. I'm not totally anti-Peach myself, although the limitations to creatively re-mixing minifigs are a real pain- I just REALLY don't like the Star Wars Clone Wars faces, and "Peach" is close enough to "Witch" that is fits easily in a lot of Space Marine sayings.Quantumsurfer wrote:While I don't take sides in the yellow/peach racial conflict and I pretty much always hate when Lego is used to mirror 40K, I find this to be acceptable somehow. Re: Real Men of the Galaxy Patrol
Agreed. I vaguely remember the basketball figs (because when I saw them I promptly forgot them) and, at first, I was completely against the idea. I remember the first wave Clone Wars (because, despite myself, I love Star Wars) and being generally affronted. You know, between the cheekboned, googly eyed faces and those godawful lightup lightsabers. But they've come a long way since then. Some of the Clone Wars are still bad but much of the more modern peach stuff is alright. Also, I can't really afford to care much. Plus, I love the alien/monster/animal heads...although, I don't know if those get lumped in with peaches or not. They're distinctly not yellow and obviously not proto or nega...lorbaat wrote:I just REALLY don't like the Star Wars Clone Wars faces
I think that may be part of why I'm ok with it.lorbaat wrote:SUFFER NOT THE PEACH TO LIVE
