RAGNABLOK summer 2014?

Post by samuelzz10 » Mon Jan 21, 2013 4:31 pm

Thoughts? I think we would need about 4 alliances, and a CP cost for each team. (about 100,000 CP per team, could be adjusted depending on how many people come)

100,000 CP? Not that it's either good or bad, but my guess is that you don't use CP too much. Many factions on these boards barely scratch 1000 CP, many are much lower than that. But assuming you get a bunch of people with 1000 CP armies (which is enough to span 4 base plates comfortably-ish...depending) that's 100 people per team and you'd need a battlefield 400 base plates wide just to fit them all! That would be brikwars heaven!

Anyway, I've been a part of a "larger" brikwars free-for-all: 5 players with 300 CP per side. Easily a six-hour game.

If a Ragnablok ever successfully gets off the ground, BEST case realistic scenario could see 6-10 people there, give the geographic distribution of the brikwars community. As we've recognized through several failed planning sessions, an actual Ragnablok even is prohibitive because of the average age of a brikwars player (not old enough to fly and/or drive self) and of distances between most players. Solve those two problems, in addition to find a date that suits a bunch of folks, and you'll see a successful Ragnablok.

Loop people around with a time machine, gets them all the same age.
Then everyone teleports to the same location, problem solved.

Weird, teleport isn't in the spell checker, damn time travelers. :fist:

Hell, if we had a time machine, why waste energy aging people up?
We could just grab everyone at convenience points in their timeline, perhaps even at multiple points allowing us to both increase our number and see our younger selves when they were at their creative peek, and host the event in some sort of temporal limbo.
Then we could return everyone to the exact time we abducted them, allowing them to resume their lives as if they never left!

I think it might be some kind of conspiracy...

Why care about CP? Just have everyone bring stuff.

a handful of people do use it. I'll be able to legally drive by mid 2014, and I could go to a battle.

I was wondering why you skipped over 2013.

CP are for the weak. Everyone bring all of forces. There are ways to build modular terrain baseplates, so that everyone can contribute to the battlefield. If I was to travel to where-ever this will be held, it will cost me lots of money in fuel. To minimize further expenses, I would find the nearest campground and stay there. It would be a good place for a large communal barbecue afterwards.
An army marches on its stomach, and its favorite food is fudge.

I dunno about modular. I'm making a game over the summer, and I wanted to use some of the proceeds to do this. don't want to mix bricks or something.

If you are going to cry about losing some stuff in order to have amazing battles then you should go find another game.

We all have Legos, and at least (most of) the forum members that have been here a while are pretty trustworthy.

Of all the games I've played with other brikwarriors, many of which involved 45+ minute drives to and fro, I think I may have lost a single ranged weapon and a single set of leg assemblies. With that track record, I've never been worried about losing stuff.
