I would violate you.

And then we'd play Xcom XD

It's finished, Shadowscythe, and god help me.

Part 1
Part 1.5

Come listen to my inane chatter, foul language, general awkwardness, and 12 year old voice. Two videos up (really one in two parts). Enjoy.

Well, multiplayer is bunk.

I just played two games with impossible point totals. 10k match each.

The first had the psionic assault soldier with ghost armor and scatter laser, which is a 10k build by itself. He had a sectoid along.
The second opponent had 3 chryssalids (9000), 3 sectoids (1200), and a support soldier with plasma weapon (a min of over 1000).

So that made sense. Plus the bugs like being forced to dash for any movement and being unable to target. Really fun. :fist:

Remember that the Light Plasma is super cheap - and with a S.C.O.P.E. is just straight up brokenly accurate.

Scopes for snipers (because it really does help round out your odds against guys in cover) and sometimes heavies. Chitin plating for the assaults and medkits and whatever else I need for the supports.

Lt. Plasma is still 250. Soldier being 800 + whatever archetype. I think the cheapest is sniper at 150 but she popped smoke so the type had to cost more than that. So thats over a grand. The chryssalids + sectoids broke the rules anyway. But you do have a point, plasmas are underpriced for their power. I actually haven't gotten to even use a medkit in multiplayer, my guys die in one turn. Best way to win seems to be to not get targeted. Playing as soldiers anyway.

And thus by Scythes maths for a standard 10,000 point game you can get

5x Marksman Snipers (950 points each)

WITH

Light Plsma Rifle +10 Aim, 5 Damage, 7 Crit (250 points each)
Scope +10 Aim (100 Points Each)
Skeleton Armour +3 Health, +10 Defense, +3 Move, Other Obvious bonuses (600 points each)

that evens out at 9500 points for five guys who can grapple from building to building, have +20 for their aim (not including other height bonuses), +10 to defense (not including height bonuses), +3 Health and +3 Move - and another 500 points to swap gear in and out with if needed.

So yeah . . . OMNOMNOM CHEWY ALIUMS.

That sounds interesting. I'll have to try it. I finally found an alright combo with the smokejumpers with lt plasmas (one of them being a tactician and one, possibly the same one, with a plasma rifle instead). Works really well on the bar map, unless you're facing something broken, especially since everyone goes for the roof. Its funny to watch them try to jump down straight into overwatch fire.

Nope, won't work. Snipers don't have access to the Lt. Plasma. They can have the sniper rifle for nothing, the laser sniper for 250, or the plasma sniper for 1000.

You could get your same point total using laser snipers instead but they're a trade off. On one hand, they have 1 higher base damage and 2 higher crit. On the other, no aim bonus. :(

If you dropped off all of the skeleton armors and one of the snipers, you could have a four man marksman squad with plasma sniper rifles (9dmg, 13crit) and scopes for 8200, leaving 1800 to buy a couple of aliens or another kitted out soldier (but not another sniper as they cost 2050 ea.). Its a much heavier tradeoff and I'm not sure that ones worth it.

The laser one might be, though.

Of course, soldiers don't stand too much of a chance against certain OP aliens like the chryssalid, sectoid commander, or even the thin men. The last die easy but while you're wasting time getting rid of it and being poisoned for the rest of the match, the rest of the enemy moves to murder. Still, doesn't compare to the doubling power of the instant killing others. Chrys runs up, noms, now has zombie right away...and with their speed on the small multiplayer maps, no less. SC mind controls, friggin disappears, and now has your best guy wandering about outside of cover into perfect 100% aim flanks. So it looks like the best teams are ones that incorporate aliens to some effect.

I don't know why but I can barely hear you in that one. I've got the volumes (physical and youtube) cranked all the way up and my speakers are backjacked so are abnormally loud for some reason. I can tell you're talking but I can'd quite make out most of what you said. :(

Normally my speaker volume dial is at about 50%, but 90% is required for this, but I do hear him clearly.
