I think the model is pretty good, though I agree with you guys about the structural weaknesses. Maybe put larger legs and wheels on it?

If howl's castle had like 30 goddamn legs so that it could lose them willy-nilly it'd work.

Like spider legs or centipede legs? That would be awesome.IVhorseman wrote:If howl's castle had like 30 goddamn legs so that it could lose them willy-nilly it'd work.
Re: Set/Theme Wishlist
More like spider legs with a joint on them with a HMG. The awesome has been doubled.

Re: Set/Theme Wishlist
I can't really say anything constructive about the school/city theme because I've never actually had any city sets.
I know this is generally talked about a lot but I didn't see it mentioned here so:
Space.
I want more space themes. I know there's Alien Conquest right now but it's only real relation to space is some aliens and flying saucers. When I think "space" I'm thinking of giant fucking spaceships. When someone says "MOTHERSHIP", a one-seat saucer is not what comes to mind. Now I'm not saying that this is something lego should do, but it's definitely something that I would like them to do and that is plausible (even though star wars will probably still sell more ).
As far as what lego should do, I don't fucking know, I live with the FBI.

Re: Set/Theme Wishlist
What if Lego took the City idea and did more period sets? Like vehicles of the 1920s and 1930s - actually, a Lego City Period set for the pre-Piltogg era or the Victorians would rock.
Or Lego could go the whole hog and do Lego Historical, so they can do Greco-Roman or ancient Egyptian sets, as well as sets from the Victorian and Edwardian periods. Then all us Tomb-Heads* would be in happy land.
*Tomb-Heads: Just something I made up to describe fans of dungeon-crawlers, Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider and mashups of the same.

Re: Set/Theme Wishlist
Theme-wise, I like what they're doing. I'm not getting any of the space conquest stuff but if this was 10 years ago I probably would've. Hell even a lot of the creator sets look nice. Maybe resurrecting some of the old castle factions in a new castle line would be nice. With themes only lasting for brief amounts of time and each one spawning a new faction or two, fitting them in isn't always as easy. Of course, I could simply not get that stuff if I can't fit it in, but I rather would be able to. I suppose they're already kinda doing this with the new castle line though. They'd fit nicely with Fantasy / KK I and Vladtron respectively. Still, some renewed Black Falcons (so with updated torsos and faces, and somewhat updated sigils) and / or Crusaders would be great. Maybe a 'Castle World' theme where lots of old factions make cameo appearances would be nice to see, but I'm probably dreaming.
Sets that are on my 'wish-list':
Kingdom's King's cart attack
The Joust
Medieval Market Village
- Most of the Lotr sets, although they're probably too expensive for me.
- The big-ass Ninjago mech.
If I won the lottery and had more space in my room I'd probably also buy a lot of the Starwars Models I've been missing out on.

Re: Set/Theme Wishlist
Personally, I think the Assyrians thing could work well, but you would have to "phase in" different factions as time progresses - You know, two factions to start, add a new faction every year for say, 5 years?
As for an AFOL theme... I like the idea of "Mythbusters" or "Top Gear" Legos. I made a custom "Top Gear Caravan" playset for a Top Gear fan friend as a Manly Santa Day present one year - Lego Clarkson, Lego May, Lego Hammond... and a Lego Caravan with dynamite bits and lots of explosion bits.

It already says 'sold out', and it's definitely not in stores :/ Right now I don't have the money to spend on it anyway though. Maybe I'll grab it off Bricklink some day. Or I could build something similar with what I have.

Re: Set/Theme Wishlist
Yeah. I wonder if bricklink ordering the pieces for the buildings would round up cheaper than buying the actual set. It probably would, save for decals and minifigs, but those can be easily substituted.

Re: Set/Theme Wishlist
Maybe, if you don't have to place too many separate orders. Generally I feel the (often unique) figs and everything else about purchasing a full set is worth it though. I'm certain if you buy the bardings or figs like the new black falcon knight separately, you'll end up paying more. Still, right now, these sets are a bit too expensive for me. With CD's you can usually wait for them to get really cheap, with Lego I fear it's the other way around and it's not going to get any better, lol. It's worse because all the 'cheapest' ones are in America, which would cost me extra on shipping costs and thus doesn't help me much. You'd have to be lucky and find cheap opportunities. One seller had the Joust 44 times!
