Pre-Made Animal Stats Thread

Post by pkbrennan » Sat Apr 13, 2013 8:27 am

I am going to be real lazy here and ask if anyone has written up a catch-all card for the little Lego Alsatians - you know the ones, can stand on three studs and have a single stud upon their backs.

If you have, please share. I know I am being lazy, but for something as simple as a dog, why re-invent the wheel?

Vehicle chapter says dogs move at roughly 8" per turn - and have 1d6 armor for being made of skin. I'd also assume they have just a regular 1d6 bite attack, but if their jaws are larger then you might be able to compare it to other similarly sized weapons.

Some dogs are size 2, some are size 1.

Alright now that we answered that I'm going to hijack this thread with my own question.
My orc faction has a squad of pig cavalry/pigvalry and I am not sure if I should just treat them like horses for the sake of simplicity or give them slightly altered stats. For example I think I don't want them to be as fast as a horse so I might just give them 8"movement instead of 10". But then I want to give them some other advantage or ability to compensate for that. Maybe somekind of war squeel ability to use while charging? I'm also not sure if I wan't them to have two hit points like horses or not.
I guess I just wan't some simple crap to differentiate them from horses but with out making them a lot weaker. Any ideas guys?

HP is based off of size, so measure your pigs and adjust accordingly.

If you bumped them down to 8, I wouldn't worry about giving them an extra ability. If you can think of something that costs 1cp go for it, but balance isn't something you really need to worry about in brikwars.

Personally, I'd just treat them like horses. Motorbikes, small dinosaurs, and even flying stingrays are horses in the brikwars universe, so why not pigs? If a minifig rides it like a horse, if it's the size of a horse, and it fills the same combat role as a horse, it's a horse.

War Pigs is also a really good name for them.

Perhaps Pigs wouldn't be useless after their rider is killed because pigs are quite smart animals. Perhaps they could be autonomous?

Knock their move down to 8" and remove the Submissive Speciality to account for the extra CP free?

I surely want them to stay horses rules wise. I would just like to add a bit of (bacon)flavor to them. Just to make them play slightly different then regular horses.

Slightly slower horses with full-minds is a good way to do both pigs and worgs

But why would pigs have full minds? That doesn't really fit their 'style'. I was thinking more along the likes of no penalty for rough terrain maneuvering or the tracking ability, you know because of enhanced smell. Or maybe even a stink area attack.

I guess, but those abilities probably won't get used over the span of a Brikwar. Sounds cool, but why track something when you could just ride up and kill it? Giving them a stink attack would make them significantly better than horses, which is cool if you're okay with that. Besides, pigs are totally smart!

I guess you're right. I just wanted something more orcish. Something brute, foul and funny. Something that compliments these dirty warpigs carrying their masters over the muddy battlefield.

Say that all pigs count as boars, and give them a charging attack because of their tusks.
