You could just go check out the minifig weapons page for yourself.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
The revised Minifig Weapons chapter is good. The new armor and shield rules aren't overly complicated. I had feared they would be.

But that's been there for a while now. I was just wondering if Stubby is still polishing some chapters or what.IVhorseman wrote:You could just go check out the minifig weapons page for yourself.

Back to working 16-hour-days plus weekends for the next couple of months. Fucking LEGO, man.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
Can I strap an energy shield to the bottom of a vehicle that makes it resistant to difficult terrain? I want to put one of my units on a hoverbike, but I don't want to spend any CP on flight since the bike itself isn't more than half an inch off the table.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
If I recount correctly the rulebook states somewhere that hovering isn't flight but just another form of ground propulsion. You do still need something to represent the propulsion element though.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
Even then, difficult terrain doesn't do damage, so a shield won't do shit. Just say that it's hovering movement and don't worry about it.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
It's listed as damage though. It just attacks a unit's movement instead of it's armor.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
Don't you think everybody around the table will agree that difficult terrain doesn't affect hovering vehicles movement in most cases.
In brikwars you often have to allow common sense say "fuck you!" to the rules.

Fair enough. Though, most of the people I play with also play 40k, and are rules lawyers.
If it comes up, I'll just slap the shield on it at the last minute. It's only 1cp anyway.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
If you're having problems with rules lawyers, then you clearly did not build a proper Hammer of Discipline.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
I've uploaded revisions to a half dozen chapters, though it's mostly just CSS cleanup and changing the presentation order around. You'll note that Chapter 5 has the new rules for Grabs now, and it now takes four inches to build a Momentum die instead of two. (I haven't updated Chapter 8 to match this yet, but that's on the way.) The explanation of a bunch of stuff in Chapter 5, like Momentum and Close Combat, is now more streamlined and hopefully easier to understand. (It'll be better still with more example illustrations, of course.)

Re: BW 2010 feedback
Good afternoon gentlemen and/or ladies,
I'm not sure it's my place to ask, as a new member, but here goes:
What happens in the final chapter? Was it really the butler who killed...oops, wrong far-um. What I meant to ask was should I stick with the squad system (e.g. movement, measuring, squad plate, standard etc.) from the 2005 edition of the rules until further notice? Or is it just me who can't access the last chapter? Currently I'm assuming it hasn't been written or uploaded yet, but you know what they say about assumptions.

That they're sometimes right? Or at least I thought that's what the saying was. Anyway, you're right in this case.Mashurface wrote:but you know what they say about assumptions.
The problem with using the 2005 squad rules is that Mike has been reworking them from the ground up so that they're actually fun. I've never used them, but from what I've heard they weren't really worth using. I'd say try them out, see how it goes for you, and base your opinion on that. If you don't like them, stubby usually posts some snippets of rules he's working on, so you might find some fragments of the 2010 rules floating around here. If you find anything, you could probably just fudge the rest. If not, then try making your own rules. Mike is always looking for suggestions for improvement.
